When manpower requirements go up, hiring standards automatically go down. That's a fact of life

This seems to have been the case in many of our big city police forces in particular.

For all of the bickerings and tantrums going on in the world today, I'm compelled to say something so basic and so obvious I just knew we all understood it to be so.

Hear me now: black people are ok. And hanging or kneeing the guy in the back simply won't fix whatever is going on in your life. Each of us in turn must examine our hearts and discover truly whatever it is that makes us so grumpy and sad.

And then, whatever you do, you simply must not take violent action again your fellow man even if (especially if) he happens to have dark skin.

Now, I'm sure all of us can agree to this.

Thank you. God bless you and God bless These United States of America.

**EDIT**

And, but, I am not at all convinced the accused police officer who kneeded George was doing the thing as an act of bigotry. I believe kneeing a suspect until dead is just not good policing.

I completely agree, anybody in their right mind would remove their knee when the person under it says they can't breathe. And no sociopath that wouldn't should be an officer in the first place.

Cop apologizes for taking a knee

Writer Roxane Gay tweeted on June 5: "I need cops and politicians and white people more broadly to stop kneeling. We don't need you to kneel. We need you to stand up for real, radical, sustained change."

"Taking a knee" for BLM/George Floyd is becoming akin to "Thoughts and Prayers" after every mass/school shooting.

in certain ways, that americans has grown since 40's to 60's, especially unification of young generation that color is not blind by prejudice. police has grown that the fact, some of them see the difference rights and wrongs of the injustice that project in their own community, which older generation of police force ran with blind prejudice with color justice then. at least, it is start.

I find it odd that there are continued acts of police brutality against blacks and protesters after the death of George Floyd. I understand police brutality has been historically under reported but in the wake of the current crisis examples keep occurring. The death of Rayshard Brooks (from the Slate ), especially in the other town severe rioting occurred after the beating of Rodney King (Atlanta) is almost too coincidental.

it's not odd, it's systemic.

the problem during this time, the police, who like brutal attacks, even murder their victims. do these police care being fire and getting sentence to prison?

if police have this prejudice or egoism being god to victims, is this a mute point, if this can truly end in the corrupt police force in america?

So basically this cop did the right thing to try to deescalate the situation and let the community he serves know that he is one of them...

But now he is acting the whiny little b****... likely because people pressured him.

He has no integrity and no business being a police officer.

Yes, that's the main point of the article.

But he just answered the underlying question: Did he do it just to appease the crowd and didn't really mean it..."Thoughts and prayers"

It's not like he had a change of heart

Well at least this time a couple days after taking a knee the cop writes an email showing his ass

In buffalo, they pushed seriously injured and almost killed and old man a couple day after their taking a knee photo op

Slight improvement.

Ths story from CNN say that Trunp is going to sign an executive order that forms a federal database on police personnel and keeps track of abuse complaints.

WE DIDN'T ALREADY HAVE THAT?

No.
Police are a local matter.

After Timothy Loehmann shot Tamir Rice, the Cleveland Police fired Loehmann .... for lying on his resume about his poor job history, and another department almost hired him except for the public backlash.

Maybe Timmy can get a job in Florida.
