So…

What the f*** is going on with the toilet paper…

I recently noticed that finally toilet paper is back in my grocery stores…

But the brands are all brands that I’ve never heard of before…

What the hell!

Is China hoarding our toilet paper to f*** with us…?

The initial estimated infection rate in the US was 75 to 150 million. The median would be 112.5 million. The initial estimated death rate was 3.4%. So the initial estimated US death rate was approx (112.5m x .034) 3.825 million deaths. That is significantly higher than the actual rate thus far. The initial predicted infection rate seems quite high considering there are 350 million people in the US. Maybe all the social distancing has helped. It's hard to say however considering the initial predictions may have just been way too high.

Someone (forget the person's name) said, "We may never know if we do too much in our response to COVID-19, but we will definitely know if we do too little."

I will use the example of a long distance trek through a jungle, since I have done this and know first hand what I am talking about.

> If you take more 1st Aid supplies than you need, it might later seem like you took too much. However, if don't take enough 1st Aid supplies, at some point you will know that you didn't take enough and you will regret it severely. Taking too much 1st Aid is way better than not having enough. It isn't even a close call. <

Note:
Granted there are ridiculous extremes.

If you take so much st Aid supplies that you don't have enough enough room for your food and water, you will be in trouble.

Of course if you know what you are doing you can find food and water.

You can't just find 1st Aid out in a jungle, even if you know a lot about medicinal herbs...

etc.

Another good quote about caution I heard during the scrubbed SpaceX launch last week:

"It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than to be in the air wishing you were on the ground"

Those are both interesting things to think about.

The other thing about the numbers is; we know the death rate and we know the hospitalization rate. We do not know the infection rate. We can only infer the infection rate by extrapolating from the collected data (hospitalization and death rates). But what if it's all completely wrong?

If there are 345,000 deaths and the death rate is 3.4% then the infection rate is
345,000 / .034 = 10,147,059 persons as of 5/24

but how do we know the 3.4% is correct? If it's lower the infection rate is higher.

There are 7.5 billion people in the world. If only 10 million have gotten the virus that means only 1.3% of the world population has been infected.

The infection rate would be from the number of infected vs non-infected from a "representative cross section" of the population - which we don't have

Fifty-seven police officers in Buffalo, New York, have resigned from the force's emergency response team following the suspension of two officers who allegedly pushed a 75-year-old man to the ground during a protest, a source close to the situation told CNN.

I wonder it it was the 57 that walked by the man on the ground bleeding from his head?

Good, those 57 should find other careers not in police work. Obviously they are not suited for it. We don't need them either.

being a cop is hard, if you are not willing act responsibly and to be held accountable then GTFO.

I was sure this was a BS story, so I watched the video on a four different news sites.

At least one blurred out what appeared to be a fair amount of blood coming form the back of this old guy's head as he lay on the ground.

These 57 police officers are dumber than s*** to resign over something like this.... pretty much gave up their law enforcement careers... no chance of collecting unemployment... likely anything they put into their law enforcement retirement plans just got pissed down the toilet.

Clearly these 57 police officers weren't cut out for the job emotionally nor intellectually.

If I were their boss, I would be thinking, " good riddance to bad rubbish."

I guess the "good news" is that they decided to pick on an old white guy for a change.

No, this will be forgotten and they will go work in another jurisdiction, or another employer.

We don't have yet. They will have to administer a lot of tests. I'm very interested in the results.
