He’s not the only one MN Police have arrested without cause. He’s the one who’s one phone call was to a person that had money and power to bring the story to light. (His bosses). They are putting everyone they arrrest in quarantine. I mean one, is concern over covid but two it is also a rights violation on top of a s*** ton of other right violations after f***ing murder.
It’s a s***show Jennifer.
It looks like one.
We had a similar situation here back in 2011. In Tottenham, North London, Police stopped a taxi that was carrying a passenger believed to be in possession of a gun. They got the man, Mark Duggan, out of the car and shot him dead in the street.
This was witnessed by several bystanders and even caught on mobile phone video. Duggan did not have a gun.
After the shooting, a police officer retrieved an object from a nearby field.
This was a gun that police said was thrown by Duggan as he was shot. the mobile phone footage (which went out on social media. I saw it myself before it was taken down) revealed this to be a lie. No gun was thrown by Duggan at any time.
Police versions of events, related by them to TV news cameras unravelled very quickly and crowds gathered at the local police station to protest.
Public anger very quickly boiled over and three nights of rioting ensued. North London was on fire for three nights before the Cameron government promised the police would be made to give evidence at the inquest. This placated the family of Mark Duggan and the riots ceased.
At the inquest, the police officers were given anonymity, allowed to testify behind a screen and weren't put on oath.
A military surgeon testified that it would be difficult to imagine Duggan throwing his gun 30 feet after being hit by the two shots.
Near the end of the hearings, lawyer Leslie Thomas confronted officer V59 (the officer who shot Duggan) with the possibility that a gun had been planted, saying: "I'm going to suggest to you, V59, that you knew where the gun was before the officers had gone round (the fence), because your colleagues planted it there." The officer replied: "I did not plant any gun at any scene. I find that highly offensive." Thomas also accused officer W70 of inconsistencies and omissions in their testimony.
Officer V59 testified that he shot Duggan because he "Was in genuine fear of his life". His explanation was accepted and the mobile phone footage which showed Duggan not throwing a gun away was never entered as evidence.
The Inquest jury recorded a verdict of lawful killing.
Make of that what you will.
British police are not routinely armed, but special armed units exist. They have gained a reputation for being trigger happy and above the law. Not one armed officer has ever been successfully prosecuted for unlawful killing despite many incidents happening in highly suspicious circumstances such as that of Duggan.
