I know what Joe should do, drink a beer and read the
New Republic . The link is to an article entitled "
Rebuilding the Constition." It talks about all the branches of the federal government and the Bill of Rights. It's a long read but a really good one.
Interesting article thanks.
So if we’re going to pretend like Biden wins, as a starting point he will have to win by a sizable margin... possibly even a landslide to make his presidency “legitimate” enough to get anything done.
And what I mean by legitimate is that if it’s a close election Trump, Trump’s fans and the rest of the Republican Party will claim that it was rigged election… Voter fraud… Etc. and go back to the way it was with Obama with republicans spending all their time blocking anything and everything regardless if it is good or bad.
In addition the Democrats will have to keep control of the H.R., and not lose any more seats in the Senate… And preferably gain seats in the Senate…
Otherwise it’s all for not as McConnell will block anything and everything for as long as he can because that’s just what he does.
Really the best hope in a Biden presidency is to just bring things back to some sort of level of “normality”… No major changes, no sweeping upheaval, just “normal” politics, which we have not seen in at least a decade or more.... Maybe even back as far as Newt Gingrich his day.maybe even back as far as Newt Gingrichhis day.
