Question about Taxes and Interest

I'm figuring most here are American but get the impression I'm not the only one from NZ using TFS

From what I remember, back when I was still in the States, given the severity of penalties for tax debt, tax debt could not be penalized with interest...

Was I misinformed?

I ask because I am getting hit with interest for tax debt accrued here Zealand.

I'm pretty sure I remember paying monthly late fees and interest when I got screwed.

THAT'S something that should be petitioned and voted to change because it's only incriminating those whom the taxation system is designed to help

It's making unnecessary criminals who will cost the country more in the long run.

Yes in the us, if you don’t pay your taxes on time there is a penalty and interest on top of what you owe.

That’s the part that usually f***s people up worse. Well the people that are not paying because they don’t have the money. The ones that are avoiding taxes usually find ways to evade declaring they owe it than just not paying it.

I've discovered, in respect of a dishonest system, we can only do that which is right by us so that we make it through to another day for those who appreciate us being here for them.

When our means finally reach the point of being imprisoned or leave us left on the streets it's time to pick up and leave existence all together.
