That principle is how the Spanish Influenza evolved. The disease was born in the trench warfare of WWI. Because people lived in close proximity to each other and in a less than sterile environment and were dying a lot, it became advantageous for the disease to become more virulent. So, a strain which was a sigma or two more virulent was actually successful and went to the races.

The unique thing I read about Coronavirus is it's incubation period. 24 days with the ability to infect other people during that time. That's troubling because the strain living in a host has reproduced before the person starts to get sick. Usually the disease is spreading from the coughs and sneezes of the host. Also, people take care of the sick and so get in close proximity to them during the time when they are contagious.

This is one of the times when you need to add a link to the information you are providing.

You seem to be saying that the virus is thinking and planning its evolution.

Wouldn't that be weird! Actually it's just part of the normal deviation of a population. Some people are tall, some are average, some are short. If for some reason all the tall people died or became sterile, the average height would drop.
With influenza there are always certain ones that will kill people. And not just people with weakened immune systems. Those don't survive long for the reasons noted above. Like rats and black widow spiders, influenza has evolved along with humans because we are it's host.

Your understanding seems very limited. I think with a little study you will realize that there are more than one type of influenza virus, and that humans are not the only host of influenza viruses.

I recommend: Spillover: Animal Infections and the Next Human Pandemic by David Quammen. It is a great book, a fairly easy read, and will help clear up a lot for you.

Why do viruses mutate?

To survive: unlike plants, animals and other organisms, the only way a virus can reproduce is through a host cell, which it does by attaching its surface proteins to the cell's membrane and injecting its genetic material into the cell. This genetic material, either DNA or RNA, then carries with it the instructions to the cell's machinery to make more viruses. These new viruses then leave the cell and spread to other parts of the host organism.

But host organisms are not passive observers to this process, and over time an animal's immune system can learn from these encounters and develop strategies to prevent reinfection. The next time the same virus comes to a host cell, it may find that it is no longer able to attach to the cell's surface membrane. So to survive, viruses must adapt or evolve, changing its surface proteins enough to trick the host cell into allowing it to attach.

etc...

Note: There is no reasons to believe that virus in any way think or plan this but who knows, maybe viruses are super intelligent aliens who have invaded planet earth... from Mars...

Mars?
All lifeforms exhibit mutations generation after generation. The question is whether any certain mutation is beneficial for reproduction. If it is beneficial the mutation will become represented in the population.

This is an article ( a little off topic ) about Tursunay Ziyawudun who escaped a re education center in China. Here's an article about how Chinese officials say the Wuhan Virus outbreak may have actually started at the labs near the city because a worker accidentally became infected from test bats.

Or the virus outbreak may have stared in one of the wild animal markets as SARS.

It's a little off topic because it isn't about Coronavirus. In the second one you misquoted me yet again.

Chinese officials say the Wuhan Virus outbreak may have actually started at the labs near the city.

Note the CHINESE OFFICIALS SAY part there. I didn't say it. In fact that's not 100 percent accurate either because technically the NEWS ARTICLE is saying the CHINESE OFFICIALS SAY that...
anyway you get my drift

I find this article a bit sketchy.

It reads (in part):

"The report mentioned one researcher, known as JH Tian, 'was once attacked by bats' and that 'the blood of bat was on his skin'."

>>> The important word being: blood.

The article goes on to read: "Tian quarantined himself for a total of 28 days after 'bats peed on him'.

>>> The important word being peed.

So... was it blood or peed (i.e. urine).

And were is this "report"?

And when exactly did this incident happen?

And why are you getting your news from a tabloid?
