(From Project X Zone 2, an 'auto-combo' fighting/strategy game with a s*** ton of characters.)

Phoenix Wright: OBJECTION!!! Vampires can't survive in the sunlight!

Demitri Maximoff: Hold it!!! My Aura shields me from the sun!

Morrigan: Well, Mr. Wright... care to try again?

Swimming snakes are always interesting to see. Especially if they're smiling as they do so.

skunky - just get one of your smelly socks put on a chain around your neck that should protect you from the sun.

Try putting each "holiday" in order... (I am not saying you don't, I'm just throwing "this" thought ou there...)

Halloween with its costumes and candy comes before Thanksgiving...

Thanksgiving with food and "thanks" for friends and/or family comes before Christmas...

Once put in order Christmas falls into place and isn't nearly as overwhelming as a three or four month lead up (which is like waiting all year for the next great action movie only to be disappointed by J J Abrams yet again).

There is also the idea of friendsgiving which normally is a food party with friends before going home to Thanksgiving (where one might face those two family members who must argue politics and ruins everyone else's time), but there is no reason that friendsgiving can't take the place of a home coming christmas were gift giving is essential or a not-going-home-for-christmas where one feels sad, lonely or even left out...

friendsgiving a time... anytime where there is thankfulness with friends (with good food, maybe drink, and gift giving is allowed but not essential)....

Just a thought or two...

Is there a difference between a true opera aficionado and a culture snob wanna be?

Suppose I say I like opera but (kinda like wine) neither have the time, money, or patience to truly master the history of all things opera?

Instead, I just dial into google play music every other week and listen to my top 20 favorite opera songs.

That has to count for something.

You have to fake it for just twenty-four hours.

Less even.

Treat Christmas like a loveless marriage. Snarl and mumble at it from forty feet then say goodbye.

BTW: shorter Christmas holiday celebrations are always more pleasant. We torture ourselves for no reason because of some protracted observance that has no place in this world or the next.

only thing, I never like the day after thanksgivings, you go to any store, they will on pa system or have the radio playing Christmas music, until Christmas day. being jewish , we celebrate a holiday like Christmas. jews celebrate a group of jews traveling around a desert for 40 years looking mcdonalds. they never found it or get a big mac. because big mac never invented back then.

You appreciate it and can enjoy it. Nothing wrong with that.

I like my share of "popular classical". I'm no aficionado. And I don't try to be. Hell, I fell asleep and gave up on Wagner's long-ass s***.

Opera is not for me. It might make more sense if I knew Italian.

Let the snobs be snobs and wanna be's be wanna be's.
I'll like it as I like it!

Is there a difference between a person who is a baseball "aficionado" and a fan who loves their team because it is their team?

The "aficionado" loves the sport... the states (runs, hits, errors, strikeouts....) the fan loves the Yankees because they are the NY Yankess...

One loves the sport for the technical aspects... one loves the sport for the excitement and the "home team"...

...still others just like sports... the thrill of victory... and the agony of defeat...

Relax... let people like what they like, for whatever reason... it is their life... not yours...
