It's interesting to look at the Hebrew texts and compare them to the texts in the Bible as Christians know it today.

verse 37 "the Hashem that was with me"

verse 12 "Hashem"

verse 9 "an evil spirit from Hashem "

The deal here is the Jewish "7 names of god." Seven specific names. Remember the Jews were not monotheists until Moses made a deal on the mountain. He accepted the 10 commandments; oddly enough the same as the 9 Egyptian commandments plus the Sabbath.
In Zoarastrianism the world is ruled by 7 angels appointed by God but the one who is not supposed to rule ends up ruling. There are 7 male gods of Sumeria, Egypt, Babylon, Greece, and Rome. There are 7 Masters of the Universe in Islam and 7 angels in Revelations that destroy the Earth.

El.

Interestingly enough, El was the high god of the Babylonians.

That really is interesting. To elaborate for those unfamiliar; El is the designation of divinity in Hebrew similar to Al in Arabic. So Al-Sadr is like saying Holy Sadr or Sadr the Holy. Maybe better put as Sadr of God (Allah). In Hebrew for example El Shadai, or the plural of divinity ( gods ) Elohim.

In the quoted verses I find it interesting that Saul was possessed by an "evil spirit of god" and David by Hashem. The verses are from the story of David in the Jewish texts, oldest version I could readily find online.

Remember here that before Moses on the mount and the covenant, the Jews where not necessarily monotheists.
