Does it matter anymore?

After the Sondland reversal it’s pretty much factual that there was quid quo pro at this point. Which is all the whistleblower was saying. And several others who have testified since then, whose identities ARE known.

Now the GOP defense will move from “no quid quo pro” to “not impeachable to do”...

let’s move the goalposts

A lot of GOPers are still whining about "Process".

That is usually how the guilty go free. Technicality or loophole.

But, say the Congress does slow roll impeachment culture.

Would it make sense to go ahead and re-elect Trump just to give the DEMS more of a platform to either keep impeachment hysteria alive for a couple of years before deciding to actually impeach?

Or, is there any thoughts about leveling formal inquiry to a president after his term of office?

I think, to further muddy the waters -
"Quid Pro Quo" may not be an impeachable offense.

Gov'ts wheel and deal all of the time in give and take negotiations.

But when it is done to a foreign gov't for the presidents Personal Political GAIN - It IS.

But the GOPers will just focus on the process and the words "Quid Pro Quo"

... much like they focused on the word "Collusion" - which has no real legal definition.

Which is why "High Crimes and Misdemeanors" or "Unbecoming" would be rather hard to pin down as well, even though we all know Trump has certainly pushed the limits of acceptability.

They've already started...

From Lindsey Graham who a couple weeks ago said that "quid pro quo" would be a big deal.... to now saying that he isn't even going to pay attention to the Impeachment results.

And... they are now spreading unsupported BS like all the other presidents did this also, so its no big deal.

The follow-up question is Define " This "

"This" = I'll give you wheelbarrows full of cash if you release a citizen
- Questionable but OK

"This" = Do something for ME (personally) and I'll be nice to your gov't
- Not OK

Everybody including my 3 year old knows that if it were Obama that did this, Lindsey Graham and the rest of the GOP would be like...

... and screaming for impeachment. Heck, he was like that for Clinton.

The hypocrisy on all this is unreal. They are even changing their own parameters in real time.

It's not inconceivable that Trump has something on Lindsey...

Moscow Mitch is a different thing altogether. He has the power to control any and all legislation. If he doesn't like it >>> no vote. If he thinks it might pass or not pass contrary to his desires >>> no vote. Nothing the HR does means anything unless Moscow Mitch likes it. The power has gone to his head and he has now proven that he is not pro-democracy. Congress (HR and Senate) are elected literally to vote on legislation, but MM blocks voting on a regular basis.

Sure Lindsey is a hypocrite & Trump's little boy toy, but Moscow Mitch is an anti-American scumbag.

And for those of you conservative/republicans who claim to be "Constitutionalists" but don't want to bother actually reading the U.S. Constitution...

The 6th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads:

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.

One might notice the absence of the words civil proceedings/trials, grand jury proceedings, anonymous hotline allegations, whistleblower complaints.... impeachments... etc..

So, does Trump have a "right" to know who the whistleblower is?

NO. HE DOES NOT.

I love it that Lindsey Graham's defense of Trump boils down to Trump is too stupid to commit a crime...

Note: Yes, I paraphrased Lindsey... so I must be a fake news witch hunting flipper deep dark state leftist liberal who hates and wants to destroy the USA...

Is there an American politician , besides Trump, who will carry the mantle on this trade war ( not exactly sure if that’s the best summary) with China?

Who else is talking about this?

Who else can?
Trump is the greatest deal maker and he know the most about China and trade and economy and terrorists and wall building and .. and ...

We don't need to talk about it. Just wait for the official tweet of misinformation.

Stupidity or ignorance does not excuse one from crime.

"I didn't know the speed limit was only 25 mph" (ignorance) - does not get me out of a speeding ticket.

"I didn't know the gun was loaded" (stupidity)

I agree that patent infringement and theft of intellectual property is the concern of all people.

Once Trump is removed, we can pray that President Pence can continue on with this important work.

You keep perseverating about Trump getting removed, but it isn't going to happen.

The GOP Senators will never remove Trump.

This impeachment thing is a futile attempt by the Democrats to show American citizens that Trump is a corrupt POS.

But people like you don't care what Trump did, what he is doing, nor what he will do. He is your lord and savior returned... god bless him and the holy ground he walks on..
