People voted Brexit specifically, therefore, Brexit must happen according to your attempts to argue here.

Not at all. The Referendum was an ADVISORY vote. It was not enforceable in law. it doesn't HAVE to happen.

Had it been a legally enforceable vote the result would have been declared null and void due to the criminal breaches of Electoral Law that Leave.EU were found guilty of in the high court and punished for. The judge in the case said that specifically.

The result only stands because of the legal loophole that the vote was advisory.

And as already pointed out, because it was advisory - regardless of what David Cameron said during the campaign* - carrying it out has no moral or legal force of law.

*Any statements about what HE would do, made as Prime Minister during the campaign, ceased to have moral authority the moment he resigned from office.

We need to keep this thread on track, Bob. You're doing your usual thing of sucking this into a topic it wasn't intended for. We are only going to go around in circles as usual. You know I'm right but will never admit it.

Let's get back to Trump. That's what the thread is meant to be all about and there's more than enough to be going on with there.

No, especially now. But it was the promise he made to American voters. I’d venture to say it was the main reason he was voted in.

I would have thought Hillary was the main reason Trump won. And even those who believe Trump can make better deals for America are probably not getting their information solely from the anti-Trump media. So, they would know that Trump said he may not be able to get certain things done, but the attempt needs to be made. I can't be the only person who listened to Trump rather than listen to people tell me what he said.

So in other words the UK should never have been in the EU in the first place and should get out. I agree with you Jen.

I’m with you that if it were another candidate instead of Hillary, Trump very well may have lost the electoral vote instead. Regardless, though, as far as what voters were hoping, or, rather, expecting due to his campaign promises, was his ability to get things done due to his deal making ability.

People here listen to debates, campaign advertising, and campaign speeches as means of learning about candidates (besides incumbents) and their platforms. And I cannot remember Trump ever acknowledging that he “may not be able to get certain things done, but the attempt needs to be made” in any of those settings during 2016. It was always something to the effect of, “Believe me, I will get it done. Mexico will pay for the wall. I know what to do. China will have no choice. Yadda, yadda, yadda.” So please do provide a link of any 2016 campaign speeches, debates, or advertising that I may have missed in this regard.

I listen to Trump all the time.

In addition, I am an avid reader of his twitter feed.

He rarely says that "he may not be able to get certain things done, but the attempt needs to be made".

On the rare occasions when he does say something similar, he usually also says the opposite either just before and/or just after that....

Something to the effect: "I'm going to do the greatest thing ever, it is going to be great, and beautiful and super successful... maybe it won't work, but we're going to try... and when we try it is going to be fantastic and the most successful thing ever... beautiful... great... I am the greatest president ever... I have done more than any other president in history..."

Agreed. It would shock me if Trump actually said something like what Bob said out of such context you illustrate, and admitted to any semblance of possible shortcomings or failures, given his ego.

Which is why I really want to see if it actually was uttered and would be happy to admit, just for the rise.

He didn't do nothing. He sat back and watched as China became a major player in my region of the world, bought politicians, loaned money to smaller countries then bought their infrastructure, created and armed man made Islands, manipulated currency markets, stole intellectual property and acted as a rogue state while America kept heading into bankruptcy.

Not meaning to be rude, but this is the kind of dribble I expect to see coming from AOC or anyone else who can't think for themselves.

Here's a little snippet you won't read, or won't believe, or won't hear on Fox.

Since President Obama was inaugurated in 2009, the United States has filed 20 enforcement complaints at the World Trade Organization (WTO) – the chief world forum for trade enforcement. That’s more than any other WTO Member.
...
Export figures and industry estimates confirm that these enforcement wins are worth billions of dollars combined for American farmers and ranchers, manufacturers of high-tech steel, aircraft, and automobiles; solar energy exporters, cutting edge service providers and many others.

The take away there is that Obama worked with other global organizations and countries to get things done.

Not just a one man show "Build a wall and make Mexico pay for it!" (lie)
"Tariffs on Chinese goods and China will pay for it!" (lie)

Sorry, dude, but I'm going trawling through everything Trump said to find things I know he said. Specifically in relation to NK he said that if his attempts fails nothing changes. It seemed entirely reasonable to me.

The fact that Obama was probably the worst western leader post WWII does not mean he got every single thing wrong. Broken clocks and all that...

Yes, Trump does adhere to the positivity ideology. I don't, personally, but you just switch off to that after awhile.

The fact that your opinion probably doesn't matter does not mean that everything you say is true. Holes in sand and all that...

Lil' Kim is feeling forgotten with all of this China trade war, and Iran seizing ships, mass shootings and stuff.
