Resuming Federal Capital Punishment in Trump's America

How important Is this topic to you?
I would rather have my infant son's body feed to ravenous pigs than to see one inmate put to death
I'll endure two protests in harsh weather to stand against capital punishment
I'll troll a Conservative Christian on the net for two days
I'll rewatch the movie "Dead Man Walking" and get drunk and re-affirm how Trump sucks
two sighs and jog around the block
one glass of water and a "cry myself to sleep" nap
I'm bored with this and need candy

It's probably no surprise that I'm okay with resuming capital punishment at the Federal level.

My experience has led me to see that life incarceration is far worse than ending the life of a person found guilty of a capital crime.

And yet the news reports show certain politicians rending their garments in anguish over this "ineffective and immoral" act.

But, would your opinion change if we could make angry tweets a capital crime?

I believe that ALL life is SACRED and that ANYONE has the opportunity (prior to death) to be saved by our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, we should expedite the DEATH PENALTY so as to thwart God from offering the opportunity of salvation to those who have committed terrible sins....

...God should not have sacrificed his son for these SOBs!!!!!

Kill them before they find the salvation that Jesus offers!!!!

"WE" pathetic sinful humans have determined what God should and should not do...

...and more importantly WHO god should or should not "save" in his own good time.

After all... did Jesus ever associate with any murders... like ... for example... Barabbas?

NO! Jesus never wanted to "save" a murder's soul!

NO WAY!

Here is a question for you:

Did God ever forgive Cain?

Gotta say I agree with Chaski on this one. I haven't looked at this legislation at all and know nothing about it, but I am completely opposed to the death penalty.

Maybe I'll just quote JC updated for the modern era - let he who is without sin flick the switch.

Once of the crippling problems within the US is the sub-class of incarcerated citizens. It's the highest as a percentage of the population compared to any country in the world.

There's got to be a better way than "throwing them behind bars and losing the key."-

If we fast-track the execution process, we could reduce that number.

I believe we can still reduce the potential for false imprisonment and false guilty verdicts and still fast-track the process for execution.

Recently I have had the opportunity to travel and see other people-groups live with stricter penalties for drug use, human trafficking, and other crimes. Imposing stricter penalties does make a difference in how people conduct themselves.

So, the original quote from Jon 8 ". . . let he who is without sin cast the first stone . . . " something something.

And yet I can't see Jesus making an argument against the death penalty in the main considering it was He who took the assignment from his Father in Heaven to take upon the sins of man (some women too)

If God stayed the hand of Abraham from slaughtering his own son Isaac, then it was He who then followed through on that with Christ.
