It's a depression thing for me. I get moments where it feels like no matter what I do, I can't, so what's the point in even trying? I've had days when I literally couldn't get out of bed, but those were the days after the really bad days...
I know everyone says they miss the old days, but I really do. So many cool people back then and it was so active, too. Back when people used to RP and there was Kinky's Tavern, and King Wayne and all that s***. It was so fun and that was when if you signed out and came back, there was about 20 more pages and you feel like you missed out.
Also, everyone had stinky feet.
Sounds like you had a lot of fun. I never really could get the attraction of RP, but I do agree there was a lot more going on then for just about anyone to get into, no matter what the interest was.
Sorry you get depressed about it now. Did I read that correctly? Are there other sites that have more RP activity, maybe sites that are dedicated to that very thing? Or is it just not the same?

As messed up as it is, that's how TFS has always been.
That being said, you joined at the wrong time, Eagle. If you had joined around 2007-2009, you would've had so many people to debate with. There were quite a few smart people who were Conservative Christians... and a lot more that weren't.
But the discussions were still great and people had thicker skins back then, so it was awesome!
I haven't posted much recently, mainly because of my new job, but also because I've had a lot of things weighing on my mind. I've been juggling a lot of s***, and now that a decent portion has been taken care of, I'm trying to manage my hobbies. Of course, most of my posts are about video games, random silly s*** or my smelly feet...
*Kicks off his shoes and wiggles his putrid socked-toes.*
...but I've been known to make a decent post or two as well. Honestly, I don't really care for politics. I personally believe that unless there was an actual, legitimate change to the current electoral process/congress, it doesn't matter who's put in, but I still like some politicians. I still believe if the DNC didn't screw over Bernie Sanders and instead let the people decide, that if Bernie won the DNC, he would've become President.
But yeah, back during the end of Bush's term and the start of Obama's, it was fun times.
I heard there were some horrible periods too that make what is happening now pale in terms of the level of animosity. Even though I didn’t come on until early 2011, even I heard about why the entire state of Florida was permabanned from this site.
At at least Bernie is getting a second chance. Biden may be in the lead, but he’s maxed out with the non-progressives while the progressives are split too thin atm, so........ oh geez, talking politics again sorry

OMG! I just realized that you and I are two of the
oldest members...maybe the oldest members...or oldest active members!!
You joined June 2006 and I joined Oct 2006...
I feel weird now.
That was right about when this site started isn’t it? I joined about the time Ko had his fallout, catching the tail end of his daily banter on here. Dave the moved on to Eagle and me and we certainly had our share of hilarity over the next few years. So if I miss anything, it’s that. But really, I’m okay with the way it is now on here. The main reason being is I’m no longer single, and no longer fatherless.
So I just don’t have time for what this place used to be like. I do get that times change, people change. Besides, the ones I met on here that are most important to me are still in touch. Heck, I married one of them.
Eagle, being one of the others, is of course still on here (and hopefully will continue to be!) and Dave is still on my wife’s Facebook (I don’t have FB).
