When will progressives stop trying to force 'heaven' to happen before God declares it ?
Well you said a lot there... too much for me to focus on all at once, so I'll go with this part
Why shouldn't "progressives", and everyone else for that matter, try to make the USA a better place? And in fact make the whole world a better place?
If you go with the bible, god put us in charge of planet earth. We are the assigned stewards of our world. It is our responsibility and we have been failing miserably. In fact, if god is up there, he might actually be a bit pissed off at the mess we've made of things... from the way we treat each other to the way we treat his creations.
Sure, there is the whole Jesus forgiveness thing, but being forgiven is not a Monopoly
get out of jail free card authorizing poor behavior.
As to border security, it seems to me that the
progressives are taking the progressive approach and looking to modern high tech tools and techniques to solve the problem... or at least help with the problem.
On the other hand, it is pretty clear that both Republicans/Conservatives
and Democrat/Liberals in both Congress
and the White House have been failing on the immigration thing for decades, and are continuing to fail on the immigration thing today.
I suppose we could justify doing nothing, or doing something that has no chance of working, but why not actually try to make things (the immigration system) better?
It isn't the
progressives who are the problem, it is
politicians who claim to be either conservative of liberal, when in reality they are (in large part) a bunch of selfish jackasses who like to dupe the public in their efforts to get re-elected.
Which means, ultimately, "it" is all our fault because "we" let them divide us... we choose to believe the BS and point our finger at the other guys, while the politicians (both Republican and Democrat) carry on with their charade at our expense.
Side note: God accepts all immigrants, with the exception of those who don't want to be accepted.
