"At 1st I thought of saying, “Imagine being told your house of faith isn’t safe anymore.”

But I couldn’t say “imagine.”

Because of Charleston.
Pittsburgh.
Sutherland Springs.

What good are your thoughts & prayers when they don’t even keep the pews safe?"

Hey lady!! Prayer was important to the victims.

How about not being such an opportunist and allowing the families to grieve, mkay?

How a person or community grieves is their own business, but we've been putting off starting this conversation for over 30 years now 'in consideration to the feelings of those grieving'. Eventually, we have to have this conversation or we resign ourselves to a perpetual state of grief.

And now she wants a sweeping gun ban.

Shocker.

Why does she keep coming up in the news?

Grief it is. Violence in the west is down. No need for gun confiscation to make ourselves feel good.

Funny how the country that used to say 'we can put a man on the moon' or the party that chants 'make America great again' looks at mass shootings and throws up their hands in futility and quiet acceptance of the status quo. So much for American exceptionalism, eh?

The change I make starts with myself. I find it remarkably easy to know when and where to shoot. I actually believe mass shootings are necessary but should be done under declaration of war and I help with that when I can.

Violence in the west is down and there is really no need to pass more gun laws just to make ourselves feel better.

Of course change starts with you. Doesn't mean that it will continue to others though. If change only happens in you and maybe some of the people you're close to, can it really be considered change?

Yes, that's their mantra

Can't stop them all, so why stop any of them!

She, and her chief of staff, are using Twitter (young people ) to air discontent towards members of Congress ..... who are in her own party. This basically set off the recipients of the attacks, Nancy Pelosi, and pretty much everyone else in the House DNC caucus, prompting Nancy to hold a closed door meeting asking everyone to air grievances behind doors or with her rather than Twitter, to better demonstrate needed public unity in defeating Trump. But this only pissed AOC more (and her other three freshmen buddies), and doesn’t show any signs of stopping her behavior.

That’s pretty much the gist of it.

I agree with Nancy. AOC won’t win this, but the sooner she stops, the better it will be for the election.

I also disagreed with the attacks on Biden by Harris in the debates for the same reason. And we are now seeing Biden, our greatest hope in defeating Trump, suffer for it.

Apparently AOC didn't learn anything from the 2016 election cycle.

When people like AOC put their altruism before the party, the Republicans win.

Bernie and his crew all but handed the election to Trump in 2016, and AOC (and to a lesser extent Harris) are presently willing to play the same game.

This is why I think Trump will win... because the Democrats will undermine themselves and lose.

Agreed, unless it stops. And it’s not like there isn’t anyone else to direct and pile their ire on, namely Mitch. And of course Donald.

So I guess I probably just don’t understand the details... but ... we’re supposed to fall in line and still accepting crap if it comes from our own party because saying anything will let the republicans win.
Especially if the issue has any thing to do with race issues, because white people are sick of hearing it and will punish us by voting for trump again.

I’m willing to be wrong, but that seems to be the gist of the argument to stfu and stay off Twitter.
Not that I’m a such a huge fan of twitter, but I do appreciate the openness to politicians on various social media platforms. Some do social media better. 4am Twitter toilet beefs are also stupid, but no one seems capable of reigning that in.
