What's in a vote if it is combined into a representative count
What's in a vote if it is gerrymandered into insignificance
What's in a vote if wages or a job are risked to cast it

What's in a vote if only one candidate is on the ballot
What's in a vote if it is based on misinformation

if it is not counted
if it is made by someone else
if it is changed after it is cast

I just can't believe the NC stuff isn't more in the news.

If I found out my vote were changed after I cast it I Would Be f***ing LIVID and calling a lawyer!!

Look at simple statistics and probabilities. WTF!!
Aside from the "irregularities" of "manually collected mail-in ballots", unsealed, and "Paid collectors".
And then there's the "witness" issue...

I hope this is just quiet now because of the attention on "41"

The illusion of Democracy depends on the illusion of the vote.

I think they just f***ed that puppy down in NC.

In July 2017, 56% of Americans said they were extremely or very concerned about voter suppression, according to a Fox News poll. Non-white voters were much more likely to be concerned about voter suppression (71%) than white voters (51%).
A Quinnipiac poll from March 2017 found similar results, 35% of voters thought voter suppression was the biggest problem in presidential elections compared to voter fraud (30%) and outside interference (26%). Republicans were much more likely to cite voter fraud (55%), while Democrats said voter suppression (50%) and were more likely to think outside interference was a big problem (30% for Democrats, 21% for Republicans).

I wonder what the numbers will show now, with the fraud and tampering in North Carolina.

As the Conservative Party battles against all the opinion polls, ignores the demographic shift, and somehow keeps a straight face as it denies that the British people WANT a second referendum on Brexit despite all the growing daily clamour for one, we wonder what has happened to our democracy.

We're told by the Maybot that "We've had a referendum. It would be un-democratic to have another one just two years later."

But hold on, Prime Minister.... We had a General Election in 2015, but you saw what you thought was an opportunity to strengthen your position and called another General Election in 2017.

Just 2 years after the last one...!!

So... let's get this right: When the Tory Party thinks it will be to their advantage to have another election, 2 years after the first, they do it with no qualms whatsoever.

But having a second referendum that is justified by the shift in the voting demographic, is wanted by an increasing number of people every day and is being called for by politicians.. including some of her own backbenchers..... businesses who are unable to plan their strategies, ordinary people who are concerned for their jobs, savings and livelihoods, and would also be the only way to break the political deadlock that has Parliament in a stranglehold.....

Apparently, that would be un-democratic....???

Brexit has always been about lies, racism, extremism, falsehoods and manipulation by devious.... and CRIMINAL methods.

If you think your democracy has got problems, we'll swop you. Your problems for ours.

Deal...?

The Russians are part of the package deal....

Trump would go the opposite way - "They love me so much we don't need an election in 2020. It would be a waste of money that could be spent on The Wall!"

Yes, I agree. It looks like you've got your own mess with Brexit.

We'll take the Russians. They like us now, since the World Cup.

The botched assassination needs clearing up, but if they send us the crims responsible we'll send them Jacob Rees-Mogg. He can teach them how to become even more ruthless capitalists. Although they'll have to learn Latin first.

Voting registration should be automatic like receiving a social security number. And a ballot should be turned in with every tax return (it can be blank).

Seems to me that when "we" (i.e. the "West" in general, and the USA more specifically) set up or monitor voting in other countries, "we" are big on one person - one vote and big on not allowing things like gerrymandering... etc.

But when it comes to "our" own voting process we are not very good at it... in fact, I'm pretty sure we would be criticizing (at a minimum) or even condemning any country that acted like we do.

Perhaps odd that Republicans and Conservatives keep complaining about voter fraud, but seem to never want recounts.

MAGA!

Bob McGrath also played in Sesame Street which is without question one of the top children's programs in the history of entertainment.

Bob McGrath played Bob in Sesame Street and lives in Teaneck New Jersey.

Bob McGrath hasn't voted in North Carolina but I think we can all channel his spirit in this hour of need. Let's all sing along with Bob and be of good cheer.

Election Day as national holiday (i.e. people don't have to miss work to vote) is a Power Grab ... so says Repugnantans

Because to make it easier for people to vote just flies in the face of democracy ... elitism

More on North Carolina voting fraud:

Hearings

One witness, Kimberly Sue Robinson, said she turned over her signed, blank ballot to Dowless' workers in an unsealed envelope. She said she'd done the same thing in previous elections, trusting Dowless would make good choices. The registered Republican's vote was counted in November's election.

Harris received 679 mail-in ballots in Bladen and Robeson counties, compared to 652 for McCready, Strach said. But McCready's lawyers contend nearly 1,200 other mail-in ballots were sent to voters and never returned — enough to erase Harris' Election Day lead.

...
"It's not just about those that have been returned. It's potentially about those that haven't been returned," she said.

Sandusky, Ohio, is a small city on the shores of Lake Erie. It's best known among Midwesterners as the home of Cedar Point, an amusement park famed for its abundance of roller coasters.

But last week city leaders took steps that could make Sandusky known as a leader of democracy, too: They declared Election Day a paid holiday – by swapping out Columbus Day.

Indictments and a new election in

North Carolina

in relation to absentee ballot irregularities in Bladen County in the 2016 general election and 2018 primary election. Activities related to the 2018 general election remain under investigation, according to Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman.

But nothing about busloads of illegals transported from polling place to polling place.
