I'll binge if there is a series I haven't seen and available on demand or streaming.

If it's something I've seen already and there is a Marathon on TV, I'll turn it on because I don't have to catch every scene to follow along and still enjoy (or catch up .. i.e. Game of Thrones)

Sometimes there will be Star Wars, Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings movie marathons that I'll flip on for casual, broken viewing.

I cannot "Marathon" (ie broadcast/set schedule) something I haven't seen before.

I seldom get more than 3 hours at a time in front of the tube -and even then there's little interruptions here and there. So even "Binge" watching is probably spread out over a day or two.

Usually in 1 or 2 hour segments. Kubrick and Tarantino usually require an intermission.
Sometimes I do some light cardio in between so I don't get stagnate

I suppose I'm somewhat of a bi-athlete this winter break (12 days off work)

I noticed HBO is doing marathons of GOT. So if it's the right time and I'm game, I'll flip it on (and off, and around, and back)

But I also signed up for a 7-day free trial of Qello (and I let it roll for one month)
Concerts and music oriented documentaries.

So I'll .. marathon? .. concerts at other times (eg, "FantAsia - Asia live in Japan" at the moment)
"Live" concerts are another one I can put on as "noise" and catch in and out of. I'm not "Binging" in the respect that I'm not sitting here staring at the screen.

Removing emotions and any other distractions, if they fought to their fullest, I would say Ned - Experience, and he just looks "harder"

Yeah, that is what I was thinking too. You (well I) could see Jaime realize Ned was his equal or maybe better. Alas we shall never know.

I never binge. It is like trying to eat a good meal as fast as you can. I watch a scene and savor it. It can take me quite a while to watch a single episode.

I never binge, I have the refrigerator next to me, when I am watching tv. I hate missing a moment of tv, I been trying to get my toilet in the living room for years.

I like mine in relatively short doses so I don't really do either, but Amanda does. She loves her Tolkien and when she got the mega-box set of Lord Of The Rings, then that became bingeing AND a marathon.

The set has not only the extended versions of all the films but also the extras, and if you can believe it, the extras are longer than the movies...!! The complete, unexpurgated diary of every (and I mean EVERY) facet of the entire making of the trilogy from day one to Oscar ceremonies. And beyond.

Phew... that really was a marathon. Then the bloody Hobbit saga came out. I could really learn to dislike Peter Jackson. But it's what she enjoys and I'm cool with that.

As for me.... I like my historical documentaries and I've recently acquired the Ken Burns and Lynn Novak DVD series on the Vietnam War. The personal stories of the combatants of both sides are both horrifying and fascinating. It will probably take me a few months to watch all 18 hours of it, but I can do that and absorb the whole picture as if I watched every disc back to back.

Usually I record documentary series on BBC4 and view them when I get the chance. Especially those on English history. Presenters like Lucy Worsley make history not only interesting but also entertaining. That girl does love to dress up in period costume to illustrate her narrative... and she's kinda hot too. Yummy... Oh yeah.... she's a first class historian too. Neil Oliver is clever and intelligent but tends to come across as a tad biased towards the Scottish interpretation of history.

I met Neil Oliver a few years ago when he was here in Cornwall filming for Auntie Beeb. I was having one of my clifftop runs and he was out having a training run at the same time. We got chatting and he told me he was due to be filming at the Minack* that afternoon and evening. I didn't have my moby with me so didn't get a selfie. Shame.

When the documentary series that he was here to make about coastal Britain came out I saw the section he filmed there. They'd persuaded him to make a cameo appearance in a performance of "The Tempest" that was being performed at the time. He made Prospero's "Our revels now are ended" speech and did it pretty well, actually.

So yeah.... I neither binge or do marathon. Instead, I'm a "Nibble in little chunks" kinda girl.

*The Minack Theatre is an arena - quite literally - carved into a natural outcrop on a cliff face on the south coast of Cornwall. A breathtaking setting for dramatic theatre with the Atlantic Ocean for a backdrop..!!

Off topic... or only vaguely on topic...

The Florida Keys used to have a marathon where you were supposed to drink a beer every mile at specified bars. The "rule" was a minimum of a sip of beer at each. It might have been more like a half marathon... and I don't remember if it was annual or held just one year.

Some people took the run seriously and had a tiny sip at specified bars, then continued the race in an effort to win or beat there PB. Not surprising, most people never finished the run.

I think now it is a mile run with four stops: The Beach N’ Beer Mile is becoming a favorite among locals and tourists who want to add a little fun in their run by drinking 4 beers in just one mile!.

Similarly... well not that similar... in the Northern Virginia national capital area they used to have a running club... the name was something like the hounds & hare... I don't think that was the name, but something like that... they typically did 6 to 10 mile runs with the finish line at a different bar/pub preselected by the "hare" (the only person who knew the route for that night). they literally ran for beer!

Anyway... back to TV world...
