I thought the "#walkaway" thing was supposed to be about Democrats.

Apparently it is about Republican lawmakers...

Rep. Blake Farenthold, R-Texas
Rep. Rodney P. Frelinghuysen, R-New Jersey
Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Virginia
Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-South Carolina
Rep. Gregg Harper, R-Mississippi
Rep. Jeb Hensarling, R-Texas
Rep. Darrell Issa, R-California
Rep. Lynn Jenkins, R-Kansas

Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas
Rep. Dave Trott, R-Michigan
Rep. Tom Rooney, R-Florida
Rep. Ryan Costello, R-Pennsylvania
Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wisconsin... as Speaker of the House, your legacy is that you essentially did nothing.
Rep. Dennis Ross, R-Florida
Rep. Tom Garrett, R-Virginia
Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah
Rep. Trent Franks, R-Arizona

Of course that doesn't count those in the administration who have walked away.

I think there was recent mention of state level politicians walking away from (R) ... to (D)

Honestly, I’ve been very put off lately by my dad’s blind allegiance to Trump and I find it concerning....and the interesting twist is going to come when I ask him about Mattis’ resignation. He’s also got a very hardcore loyalty Marine Corps and sang Mad Dogs praises a lot. I am curious/scared about what his reaction is going to be.

Asked why he stayed in the role for 18 months, the departing chief of staff responded that “military people don’t walk away.”

Looks like another Elephant is going to #walkaway.

"Kansas GOP Sen. Pat Roberts won't seek re-election in 2020".

The only "walkaway" politicians we ever seem to get here are those who suddenly decide that "They need to spend more time with their families."

This decision usually comes shortly after they've been caught with their fingers in the till, caught with their trousers down, or have put the country to a referendum that, if lost*, will radically alter our entire future for generations to come to the extent that in ten years time the United Kingdom will - literally - no longer exist.

*which it subsequently is.

If I were Pelosi and Schumer, I would tell Donny Doolittle that we weren't going to meet with him unless McConnell was there AND all questions had to go to McConnell 1st.

Rep. Tom Marino, a Pennsylvania Republican, announced Thursday he'll resign from Congress to pursue a private sector job, after just starting his fifth term in Congress.

"As of January 23, 2019, I am officially stepping down from Congress," Marino said in a statement. "Having spent over two decades serving the public, I have chosen to take a position in the private sector where I can use both my legal and business experience to create jobs around the nation."

Perhaps I'm wrong but I think this guy just got re-elected.

If I were one of his constituents, I'd be pissed and feel cheated.

Granted a Republican will most likely be selected to replace him...

Unless PA holds special elections for this sort of thing... something to google...
