One certainty is that, God forbid, that nice President Trump were to pass; he would have there greatest funeral there ever was. There has even been serious talk of building him a pyramid.
I have actually thought about this, and I wonder...
Absolutely there would be an official ceremony, which would include representatives from the U.S. Government/Military. It is pretty certain that he would lay in state at the Capitol Building.
But the other particulars...?
> Would it be at the National Cathedral? Probably... unless he wants it somewhere else.
> Would he be flown "home" (NYC or Mar-a-Lago)?
> Would there be a memorial service at "his" church (does he even "have" a church)?
> Would any of his "friends" attend? I'm guessing that Cohen, Flynn, Sessions and a few others would not.
> Would foreign dignitaries go? I'm guessing Putin would not.
> Would people line up by the hundreds or thousands to pay their respects?
If he died in office there would be, most likely, considerable attention and presence... but if it was years later (like Bush)... how many people would really care?
Nixon's funeral/memorial service might be the thing to look at... does anyone remember it? The Clintons, Ford, Carter, Reagan and the Bush's all attended. But they are all either dead and/or have been insulted by Trump... would the remaining one's attend?
I doubt it would be the greatest ever... but I could be wrong.
Of course I also doubt that his present fan base is going to give two s***s about him once he is out of office.
