I don't really understand. Just because some senile geezer croaked, I have to take a day off the market, my main source of income. I don't like having free time; When I do I spend all day on here :p

And before you politics fans decide to whine "He was a good president", I'm not denying that. I just don't understand how taking an additional day off the already ABYSMALLY FAILING market can be beneficial?

Death of American culture is inevitable. With that I look forward to the day when the office holder of the Chief executive is treated with much less fanfare. Obama was a retaliation political executive and now Trump is the same. Since we are more a less Balkanized by culture I believe that the best solution is to reduce the importance of the figureheads in American life if we can’t be unified as a nation.

I agree - After Trump, the office of the president will garner much less respect. He's done well to drive respect out of the oval office so far.

As long as the USA exists it will have a culture.

That culture won't die, it will just continue to change... as it has for the last 200+ years.

CONSERVATIVE, n. A statesman who is enamored of existing evils, as distinguished from the Liberal, who wishes to replace them with others.

If that sentiment takes, it could be a positive change. Disregard most of the trash by DC and Washington and lean on local community and local leaders.

Because of lawlessness, the love of many will grow cold.

and so, it has come to this. Prune back and burn the chaff.

It's not just DC.
States passing legislation to limit voter turnout.
Lame duck (R) legislation curtailing powers of incoming (D) leaders

Out right VOTE Tampering in NC leading to (R) wins.

After Nixon, we elected Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan. So I think it’s still possible for the office to regain our trust and respect.

I disagree. To this day Americans are suffering from decisions made in the Reagan era. Similar to how modern science suffers indirectly due to the Crusades.
