If there is hard and/or indisputable evidence, then wouldn’t these more than mere allegations? These “investigations” are going to be a waste of money. Especially for the aim the Democrats.

But if investigations are so importantm then EVERY candidate should be investigated prior to running for office. Why waste money and time on one when there’s hundreds of f***ed up and crooked politicians?

Usually criminal investigations require either a criminal act or substantive allegations of a criminal act.

With the Russia probe we have both of those things, and results that prove it.

Why would you want to investigate anyone prior to having either a crime or a realistic allegation of a crime?

Why don't you want to find out what Russia did and who helped?

Correct, they are not mere allegations for many. In fact, several have now been indicted.

Some of the evidence didn’t come to light until after he was elected.

There is no rule stating when investigation over suspected criminal activity should or shouldn’t begin, nor should there be.

Your partisan bias here is showing.

Legally everything is a mere allegation. Even if the have a video tape of the person committing the crime, they have to investigate to prove the allegations.

And if you called it anything other than an allegation in the press before a conviction, you open yourself up to a lawsuit.

But yeah, anytime there is an indication a specific crime was committed it should be investigated. Being a politician alone is not enough, their investigations are just more “public” than the average citizen.

There is hard evidence (transactions and real estate deals) that the Trump Orgainization has been a money laundering haven for Russian mob oligarchs.

There is indisputable evidence that the Russians have meddled in the 2016 election with the primary aim of assisting Trump.

These are both serious allegations that should at least be looked into, don’t you think? Add the fact that Trump refuses to share his tax records, refuses to act on the Russian election meddling, let alone even acknowledge it with Putin, and has numerous businesses dealings on record with Russian oligarchs in the past, and I think anyone who isn’t a Trump worshipper would have some suspicions.

Look, I am NOT saying to rush to judgement. Maybe he is innocent on all of it. But it should at least be looked into. I don’t care if it’s Trump, Obama, or Dana Carvey, I would at least want to know if my President was involved in this kind of activity. The American voters at least deserve that knowledge before deciding whether or not to cast their votes on him in 2020.

and your proof is????

The links all work for me. And they are all dates post election, so I’m not sure where you got 2013.

Look I’m not going to assist you if you refuse to read them all, or, judging by your quick response here, any of it.

But all of them verify the existence of said evidence.

I don’t have a partisan bias. I think this entire investigation thing is idiotic. These politicians are not wanting to investigate him based off these allegations. They simply don’t like him, or what he stands for. They are no better than the politicians who wanted to go after Obama before and during his presidency.

The same could be said of anyone who refuses to investigate a trail of evidence of criminal activity because they want the status quo to remain.

What is there to lose if this is investigated?

If people are guilty of crime, it gets these criminals indicted and curtails their ability to continue.

If Trump is innocent, this will prove it to the American people and we can all move past it and Trump can do his job of being President.

If Trump is guilty, the American voters deserve to know.

I fail to see any motive here not to investigate.

The only motive, therefore, is political.

My bet is that acting AG is going to try to get control of Mueller's report before it gets published.

If Mueller's report doesn't come out in the next 14 days, Mueller might be fired and the report (for the most part) squashed or watered down by his replacement.

Rumor has it that Mueller is getting ready to indict someone (or a few someones). Depending on who that is, that might buy him some time... though not much.

Of course Trump does have to be somewhat careful on all this as he could end up pushing the HR to hold impeachment hearings. However, the end result of that is a big nothing as the Senate would/will let Trump off the hook regardless of the information/evidence presented.

The timing and severity could hurt a Trump re-election, though that is doubtful. We can see that in the theme that no matter the indictments and convictions, no matter the involvement of Russia (which is really beyond doubt), Trump supports still call the investigation a waste of time and money.

We have a want-to-be mafia capo as our president, and we love him.

The House can just subpoena the report or Mueller himself and open up hearings to get the details.

Anything Trump and the new AG does are akin to playing Whack A Mole at this point.
