If Mary ask.
She must have thought mind soul spirit different things.
mind=our computer. Hard drive and all?
soul=us
spirit=?
I am pretty sure that Mary was telling Pete what she believed Jesus taught not what she believed or taught. I am pretty sure there were no woman rabies (teachers) at the time. I suppose that it does not matter

As I read it the spirit refers to the interface between the mind and the soul.

There is some kind of input device; a punch card, disk, sense organ.
There is a Central Processing unit; a mind.
There is an interface between the mind (the processing unit) and the [I] (soul).

It may be that according to Mary’s interpretation of what Jesus taught the spirit is the interface.
According to the Jesus myth HE did not write anything down so everything we know about his teaching is someone else’s interpretation.

It may be that the spirit, in this context, though supernatural, has a physical (natural) aspect. (i.e., this is the basic ‘mind body problem’)…
When we figure this out we can publish but you will have to go to Norway to pick up our Nobel Prize because I am afraid to fly.

What we are doing here is labeling (giving names to) [the knower], [that which is known], and [the process of knowing]. We could (if we wanted to) label the knower [X], the known [Y], and the process of knowing [Z].

Both [spirit] and [soul] are concepts.
The concepts of [spirit] and [soul] (as different entities [X] and [Y]) seem to overlap.
The [soul] (consciousness) is entirely non-physical and survives physical death.
It may be that the [spirit] (as Mary explained it] has both a physical and non-physical aspects and the non-physical aspect survives death and the physical does not.
The [spirit] is sometimes referred to as a manifestation, hence the interface. We might represent spirit with [S], mind with [M], body with [B] and soul with [C].
I do not have a soul, I am a soul and the soul (metaphysically) is consciousness [C]
