So many religions have or are doing this. Best to leave others out of their teachings & concentrate solely on them selves. Wars are started on much lesser things.

There is evidence that religion does start wars.

The 20th century was the bloodiest in recorded history. Having a look at some of the major conflicts from the time and examining whether religion started the war...

2nd Anglo-Boer War...religion not the cause
The Boxer rebellion...religion not the cause
Russo-Japanese War...religion not the cause
Mexican Revolution...religion not the cause
First and Second Balkan Wars...religion not the cause
The Great War...religion not the cause
Russian Civil War...religion not the cause (though the communists were fiercely anti religion)
The Irish War of Independence...religion not the cause
Irish Civil War...religion not the cause
Chinese Civil War...religion not the cause (though the communists were fiercely anti religion)
Second Italo-Abyssinian War...religion not the cause
Spanish Civil War...religion not the cause
World War II...religion not the cause (though Hitler was very anti organised religion and Stalin sought to completely eliminate all religious expression in the USSR)
French Indochina War...religion not the cause etc etc etc etc etc

I watched the video and as far as I'm concerned i cant see what the big deal is. It's simply an example of one group expressing their views (there is no incitement of hatred etc) in the hope that others might listen to them and come to form similar views. Every group in the world does the same thing. Indeed as individuals we all act in such a manner at different times. It is natural if you strongly believe something to want to express your views and to hope that others might come to share said views. You do it, we all do it. So to criticise one group for doing something you yourself do is hypocritical.

Yeah, it's all the rage not to look at the root causes that are based on religious belief.

Actually it's all the rage to blame conflict on religion.

So give me some examples over the past 100 years or so where religion has been the root cause of a conflict. I gave examples from 1900-1948 (i was going to cover the whole century but didnt feel it necessary to do so).

The sad thing is that you dont recognise your hypocrisy. You say that people who hold views different to your own should effectively keep their mouths shut whilst you freely espouse your views on whatever subject you like to as many people as you can.

As mentioned in an earlier post, the JW video seems to be trying to present their views on an issue with the assumed hope that perhaps some others may listen to what they say and, having done so, form similar opinions to their own. This is exactly what you, me and everyone else does at different times. But you seem to be of the view that only people who hold views consistent with your own should be allowed to express their views. This is unfortunately classic liberal left thinking. Hell, on this site people have even straight out stated that no one should be allowed to hold opinions on particular subjects unless they agree with the views of the liberal left! And yet these same people criticise others for being intolerant!

Ah how times have changed. Once upon a time the liberal left encouraged people to express their views even when they didnt agree with them. They encouraged public discussion and debate. Today the liberal left attempt to shut down anyone expressing a view they dont agree with. The LL preach tolerance whilst acting with intolerance. They preach diversity whilst seeking to ensure that only their narrative is told. In the media, politics, at educational institutions, they seek to eliminate any views that dont conform to their own. Universities are a good example where students often prevent guest speakers from expressing their views if said views are not consistent with those of the LL. People (including academics) have even been denied visas as they hold views unacceptable to the LL.

The scary thing is that the holier-than-thou left cant even see how hypocritical and absurd their actions often are. There have been countless cases where individuals or groups have sought to hold lawful meetings only to be thwarted by the LL who act illegally to ensure no 'dissenting' voice is heard. They picket buildings and threaten (and sometimes enact) violence in the hope of ensuring that anyone who doesnt agree with them is not allowed to publicly air their views. And they invariably do so whilst holding up placards accusing those speaking at, or wishing to attend, a lawful meeting as being Nazis (there's a great Monty Python skit just waiting to be written)!

Bigot - a person who has strong, UNREASONABLE beliefs and who does not like other people who have different beliefs or a different way of life.

This actually seems a pretty good definition of the liberal left!

The reality is that bigotry is largely a matter of perspective. One person may consider another a bigot whilst someone else wont. Indeed that other person may consider the first to be a bigot, for who defines what is "unreasonable"? Opps, silly me, the left do!
