Instead of Myers Briggs, we used the True Colors Personality Test. I'm not too sure if MB is used in other parts of Canada, but for BC it seemed to be True Colors. I've taken the test about 4 different times now (once in high school, three times over the course of different job placement programs) and my results have always come back practically the same. Blue, Green/Orange (the only variable. Usually it's Green then Orange, but I've had it Orange, then Green before too) and finally Gold.

Authentic Blue: Emotionally driven, sympathetic, creative, entertaining, group harmony, leans towards more artistic career choices.

Scientific Green: Logically driven, analytical, focused, inquisitive, independent thinker, leans towards more science/technological career choices.

Resourceful Orange: Short-term driven, impulsive, hands-on, competitive, welcomes change/variety, leans towards hands on/physical career choices.

Organized Gold: Loyalty driven, organized, responsible, respects authority/rules, handles money well, leans towards business-oriented careers.

That's very cool! I've never heard of that one. I'm going to check it out right now and post my results. Sigh... as much as I believe that technology is overused by a lot of people, it is Awesome to be able to instantly look up things when I want to.

My True Colors Results are: (drum roll please!)

Green- 100%!!!
Blue- 84%
Gold- 76%
Orange-52%

Out of the list of green traits, the ones that most peg me are: Analytical, Curious, Free thinking, Intellectual, Philosophical

Thanks for the input Skunky!!! Perhaps you can take the MB test to see how you compare? This test goes well with my INFJ results.

I'll have to check it out, for sure. I remember them mentioning the MB test, but I don't think we ever did.

There's no 'better' colour. It's just a measurement of your preferences in terms of life goals and what you personally find important.

I guess it's a good thing they call it Myers Briggs, rather than Briggs Myers.

If you said you took a BM test, people might get the wrong idea

What are your thoughts on this personality test? And if you've taken it, what are you?

I am an INFJ/INTJ. I say both because I've taken the test multiple times in my life and gotten them both equally.

For those who don't know much about it, Jung and Myers developed this test to group people into 16 different personality types. It is based on the following premises:

*How people focus their attention or get their energy (Extraversion or Introversion)

*How people perceive or take in information (Sensing or Intuition)

*How people prefer to make decisions (Thinking or Feeling)

*How people orient themselves to the external world (Judgment or Perception)

Studies show that it's roughly 75% accurate. I agree. Do you?

I've taken the MB test several times over a couple year time frame and I always score INTJ. I've taken other personality test and score a similar pattern.

I guess I'm an INTJ. We have a few traits that I don't care for when I read the INTJ descriptions and I have them, unfortunately but it is what it is. We can modify our behavior a bit, but at the end of the day we are who we are.

Ahh a fellow introvert!!

It's actually one of the rarer types. Which traits do you dislike? That people perceive us as arrogant, unfeeling, and anti social? What's not to like?! Lmao! I volley between INFJ and INTJ because I feel a great deal but suppress it a majority of the time. I agree that we can and should modify our behaviour where it pertains to dealing with other people. I do try to get along with everyone if at all possible. And you are right, at the end of the day we are who we are. We might as well love ourselves!

How we come off a bit cool and I tend to be less demonstrative of my feelings, I tend to be a bit too analytical at times. I'm actually a funny guy but reading the INTJ descriptions I don't get "funny" if you know what I mean. LOL.

My SO is an INFJ which is pretty close, just the thinking part get replaced with "feeling" but that's ok, we'll forgive her for not being an over thinker. LOL.

It's probably a good thing to not be with someone just like ourselves. I dated a guy that was very similar in personality to me. We were both so passive and agreeable that we almost never left the house! LOL "What do you want to do?" "I dunno. What do you want to do?" "Doesn't matter to me. What do you feel like doing?" And on and on.

That is interesting! I can see how that could happen tho. I will never be an E. Lol I'm one of the most introverted people I know!

What do you attribute to the change?

I'd say it's probably attributed to the people I surround myself with.

My high school circle was mostly composed of introverted, more soft spoken folk. But after graduation, we all ended up going to different colleges that are really far from each other, so now my primary circle is way different. I now hang out with a lot of outspoken, more rowdy (for lack of better term) people, so I guess I kind of took on their energy the more I hung out with them

That makes sense. Perhaps you were closer to the E and just needed the right environment to bring it out. My ex husband is extremely extroverted, but it didn't rub off. lol I also have been in a circle of extroverts the last few years. It did get me out of the house more often! The only time I can say I become more 'extroverted' tho is when I've had a few drinks.

I like how the aforementioned color test gave percentages for each category. I think I am about 50/50 with Thinking/Feeling, which is why mine goes back and forth in that category.
