Isn't It Ironic? Don't Ya think?

Gotta love the irony. You called it, Alanis....

Quote: A man who claimed God punishes gay people with natural disasters has seen his own home destroyed by floods. Tony Perkins - the leader of Family Research Council - might be regretting that statement after becoming another victim of the Louisiana flood crisis.

Or perhaps there's something Mr Perkins would like to tell us that he's been keeping in the..... er.... closet up until now...

Quote: In a 2015 interview with Messianic Jewish pastor Jonathan Cahn, Perkins said he agreed that Hurricane Joaquin which hit Hawaii last year was “a sign of God’s wrath. He has said he believes “the homosexual community” is engaged in behaviour “that will destroy our nation”.

Pastor Cahn had better watch out. He might be next on God's list.

If God really punishes nations for homosexual tolerance, he has terrible aim.

San Francisco and Greenwich Village in the U.S. are both pretty safe places as far as natural disasters are concerned compared to tornado alley which is right in the Bible belt.

You either didn't read the title of the thread, don't have any idea how to maintain continuity in a thread, or have a very strange standard for what "being paid" means.

If being paid means my house being flooded, I'll pass.

i heard god has problems people like this man. god strike down them with lightning.

one day, the man will be strike down my lightning, because of his views of gay people.

in god's defense, the man strike down by lightning. i don't think god should said:

Blimey... this old thread getting bumped.

In all honesty, I'd hate to think that anybody uprooted themselves and moved away because a gay couple moved in.

I have to say that, in the twelve years I've lived with Amanda here in Kernow, we've only had one instance of "neighbour trouble" and even then, as unpleasant as it was, it was more a case of misplaced teenager angst lashing out at the nearest and most obvious target in the neighbourhood rather than outright homophobia.

When we lived in Falmouth, a neighbour's daughter spray-painted the word "Lezza" across the bonnet (hood) of my car. It didn't take long to find out who the perpetrator was and we managed to deal with it without recourse to calling the police and having her arrested for criminal damage. Actually, once we talked with her mother and found out what her underlying problem was, we were more sympathetic than angry.

I ended up helping to mentor her through her GCSE Science subjects at school and now she's all grown up, went to university and graduated as a midwife. She works up country now but we still keep in touch.

People do things for all sorts of reasons.... and not always the obvious ones. The genuine homophobes, I believe, are probably fewer and farther between than we think.

I still can't help having a little chuckle when I read the OP to this thread though. That really was somebody getting their come-uppance.

Thanks for bumping it Twilight. It made me smile.

It was actually @PTF who bumped your thread. Apparently he needed to brag about someone paying him to be straight.

your welcome, sometimes, the humor of the reality of a situation, show more of the reality of the situation. the facts of the situation, if you look at the big picture of the situation.

jennifer - most people will blame anything, except their selves. this man will not blame god for natural disasters, because god is will harm his children.

this man is blame gays, because god will never create these kind of people, god create perfect people like him.

so he doesn't think gays are perfect, the man afraid that being around gays make him a target for natural disasters.

irony and the humor of this situation is there was no gays, where he live now.

who would this man blame for the natural disasters that happen, where he lives?

naa, it can't be god, he is only one thing that this man believe he will save him and on his side.
