Just when you think it can't get any stranger and divorce can't get any uglier. Someone starts fighting about frozen embryos and unwanted future children or would that be unwanted frozen future children . And thats after the divorce is final .

""They signed an agreement with the IVF clinic saying the embryos must be "thawed and discarded" if the couple divorced, the San Jose Mercury News reports. The couple split in 2013""

the IVF clinic made it be so?

I was wondering that too. It was a contract , but why was it part of the 'paperwork , ?
Something else I was wondering is , why couldn't the ex wife sign off on child support / responsabilty on the ex husbands part and keep the embryos ? It seems like the fight for them started after the divorce was final ,so the little snow balls wouldn't be community property or would they ?

Bizarre ruling, I mean if she had been fertilized the "normal" way, would the court rule that she must have an abortion?

I was wondering if that judge sort of tweaked the existing abortion 'guidlines' , but then that wouldn't work because as far as I have heard the father doesn't have any legal rights in making the decison when a woman is considering her options.
I'm guessing there aren't any rules or laws to cover this type of thing , yet.
