fixing a hat

i need the hat on the right to fit like the hat on the left. any ideas on what i can put in the hat to make the same size hole as hat on the left? thinking of just buying another hat on the left and cutting it to fit inside the other hat. but think it will work?

finch - both plastic hats are two different sizes. the gray hat's inside if cut of it out, doesn't look like it would fit inside the brown's hat. i am look at the angle of the photo. it really hard to tell exactly how big the inside of both plastic hats. finch- the funny thing of the photo is that both hats look like bedpans.

Is there anything i can insert in my marx hat to make it fit my gilbert illya kuryakin doll's head? I want to keep the insert in the hat.
