Do you know him? Do you have occasion to speak to him often? If so, I would ask him yourself. If not, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'm fairly certain that he's not the least bit worried about you.
Even if I had the chance to meet him, I wouldn't. Mostly because of all the damage his "reality" show has done, but also because I don't give a crap either way.
I just was wondering because I saw it on the news ticker under "Breaking News" and while it said that Bruce Jenner was officially a woman, it kept referring to Mr./Mrs. Jenner in the male pronoun and I wasn't too sure how he/she identified now. Some news stations were saying 'he,' others 'she,' so I was just curious, especially because of how important self-identity is.
Not that I even have an interest. It's just that they literally tried to pass it off as 'Breaking News' on CBC.

"I accept that Bruce Jenner is a Republican and wish him happiness, even if I can't understand it," said Johnny McNulty.
Best quote of the night.
It's nice that he/she's still got a lot of support from a political party that normally wouldn't be the most welcoming to someone else in his/her position, though.

Skunkie, I want to start off with I like you so what I am about to say is not meant, rude, mean, hostile, in a fighting way or anything, just conversing with good intent.
I know you don't have bad intent with your post and you mean it as a joke but...there are so many people struggling living as a gender they are not and scared to come out because they are the brunt of jokes, mockery etc that your joke could be perceived in a way I think you do not mean and could hurt anyone reading this and possibly going through it themselves.
I think the important thingies it's what he wants. If he wants to be referred to as he or she or keep his name or change it and we all just accept it and abide by his wishes.
I think because the gay and transgender community has been persecuted, rejected, attacked, mocked and ridiculed, what we who never went through that think is a joke, might be not so funny but sensitive issue for them.
Too true, Dorky. I meant it sort of as a joke, but I was also a bit curious because both CBC and CTV were trying to pass off Bruce Jenner officially becoming a woman as 'Breaking News.' If it were someone else who wasn't famous, it probably wouldn't even make the news, plus I hate what he stands for in the case of his 'reality show,' so I didn't pay too much attention.
However, I noticed that they kept alternating between male and female pronouns, even when they were talking about it so it seemed like they weren't too sure either. Last year during my work placement program, we had some people come in from the LGBT alliance on Robson (They had a different name, but I can't remember what they were called), and they were talking about that. One of the speakers, Murphy, used to be a woman but he always self-identified as a man back when he was only 8. He practically spent 16 years of his life hiding who he was from his family because he was so afraid of how they'd react. His brother was the first person who he told and right off the bat, his brother was nothing but supportive. And about 2 years ago, he had the last bit of his surgery finished up, which was really cool.
As I mentioned near the top of my post when I was addressing boxer, I was mainly wondering. But I understand how my post might be interpreted as poking fun, so
to any transgender members/lurkers who might have been offended or thought I was taking a potshot: I wasn't. I was planning on elaborating a bit more much earlier today but I was on a bus from Kamloops back here, so I had no computer access. Whoever you identify as, good on ya. You are amazing and beautiful no matter who you are. Stay classy.
Also, I know your post was in no way meant to be mean, Dorky. You were just doing what you do best: looking out for others. So thanks for that.
