What is it about the mad raving loonies push for their political dominance through stupid political correctness. They go to such an extreme that it has to make people feel blue(u can say this).

If the PC Brigade makes you angry, then you obviously find yourself in a black(i'm in s*** now) mood. But hey, isn't all of this a bit of a whitewash(that's ok too)?

Watching the morning news program, it was said that you can't have kids singing RACIST songs like, "Bah Bah Black Sheep". Nor say s*** like, "I'm the Black member of the family".

This makes me so red under the collar, that I go into really black moods which makes me feel a little blue. But hey, there's got to be some silver streak of luck out there because all the glitters like a gold, isn't gold.

Then again, maybe I'm a little green and need to mature into the experienced world.

Again I say - life is hard enough.

Let's quit with the pettiness and just get on with things. Political Correctness is insane.

I remember in physics when we had to stop saying "black body" and start saying "perfect emitter". Bah.

You don't stop racism by changing childrens nursery rhymes and long established scientific nomenclature.

I once had a boss who was a sexist white supremissit biggot. That's the nice things about him.

When our personnel department sent around a questionaire to determnine the racial and religious make up of their staff we accidentally got his and completed it on his behalf.

What we didn't realise was that personnel would then send us an acknowlwdgement confirming their perception of us.

There was murder when HE got the letter confirming he was a Black / Chinese, Gay, Jewish woman with disabilities.

He deserved all he got!

I dont see what everyones problem is with being PC,if changing a song will stop people being offended then so be it.

The problem is that invariably it's not the minorities that are actually offended by it or campaigning against it.

Have you ever met a black person that was offended by the song "baa baa black sheep"? Or a black scientist that was offended by calling a perfect emitter a "black body"?

No, it's the ultra-liberal left wing who want to remove the most remotely potential sources of offense. Or who think that the minorities should be offended. Or who are so desperate to avoid being labeled racist themselves that they just can't see the racism stems from your behaviour toward a minority.

Sure, if a song IS racist, then remove it from schools. I certainly wouldn't be happy to hear children singing "hang dem niggers high" or "get the chinks working on the railroad". But to go back to my original example, the name "black body" came from the fact that a perfectly black object IS a perfect emitter. How the hell is that racist?

mad raving loonies

i love that party (it is a political party here... the mad raving loony party!!!) they're the party who originally came up with the idea of a pet passport as a joke... and now it actually exists!!

BUt seriously.... extreme PC merely makes people more aware of the "racism" existing in a song... baa baa black sheep wasn't racist until they so blatantly removed the word "black" PC has gone to the extremes. It doesn't remove prejudice. If anything, it makes prejudices worse by drawing attention to them.

Im not saying the song in its self is Racist but I can see that racial conflicts start so easily and do a lot of damage so its better to remove anything that could cause that than be viewed as Racist.

The point is its not causing us any harm,it is a song,a 'potentially' racist one and i think its better that kids learn from a young age that it could offend someone and why.
If they deal with issues like thios now then there will be no need for people to have these arguments in the future.

I see everyones point and why they think it's stupid,it probably is but if it could contribute in some small way to stopping racism in any form then I dont see the argument.
