Faith closes the mind. It is pure idol worship.

Faith is a way to quit using, "God given" power of Reason and Logic, and cause the faithful to embrace doctrines that moral people reject.

The God of the O.T. says, “Come now, and let us reason together,” [Isaiah 1:18]

How can literalists reason with God when they must ignore reason and logic and discard them when turning into literalist?

Those who are literalists can only reply somewhat in the fashion that Martin Luther did.
“Faith must trample under foot all reason, sense, and understanding.”
“Reason is a whore, the greatest enemy that faith has.”

This attitude effectively kills all worthy communication that non-theists can have with theist. Faith closes the mind as it is pure idol worship.

Literalism is an evil practice that hides the true messages of myths.

We cannot show our faith based friends that they are wrong through their faith colored glasses.

While I agree with your basic premise I must point out that Idolatry is not quite correct, not all faiths require idol worship, Luther in particular was intensely scathing of such practices.
Too, not all people of Faith are unapproachable, only the literalists, as you name them.
Unfortunately you are correct in your summation though, you'll never convince a true-believer using reason or logic, faith is a mental process of an entirely different order, belief in something without or despite any evidence.
Humanity has an ancient history of that, and a current one, you need only look at our system of government to see that in action!

I think it's all meant to suggest that the world we're in is a virtual joke and not to sweat it too much.

However for Christ to have concluded that in first place he would not have trusted God himself and investigated further to discover and offer that conclusion.

The plot is we're all being intellectually taken advantage of.
You need to become at least smart enough to realize that.

I think Christ would have concluded that we were being d***ed with intentionally to force us up off our asses and finish the tower of Babylon.

BTW I don't write the world off as a joke to the extreme of turning my back to those I can help.

I really do believe some people are getting seriously hurt here and it's only more insult to injury to pass them off as 'acting.'

Epistemophobia is a scientific term for the "Fear of Knowledge"

Throughout our many thousands of years of recorded human history there has been no term established (in any language) for the fear of ignorance.

And yet it is ignornace which is the root of all evil.

Salut.
Faith is unquestioning belief. Strange that the idea of faith arose from a question. God is an answer to the question "who created us?". It was done in good spirit. I don't know when or why such a perfectly reasonable state of mind transformed into blind irrational madness. But it has come to this for some people. They've forgotten the question, the virtue of the ever-questioning mind and are now pathologically fixated on the answer.
In a way reason has begotten an idea that destroys reason itself.
Fact is stranger than fiction!

Questioning arises from hurt. When people get hurt enough they begin questioning why they are alive in the first place.

And so it goes....

Does it? I don't think hurt is the only reason for questions. Perhaps I don't understand you correctly.

Questioning Metaphysics?

I would've continued forward trusting enough not to ever ask had I not been hurt.

As you say; some may ask trustingly for no better reason than curiosity but many of us assume the answers to be too far out of our league to conceive and proceed through life in blind faith never quite concerned if product of chance or design.

Some might say "But what if you're doing it wrong? Don't you want to know just in case?" THAT is an example of cowardly distrust.

Indeed. There is a quote somewhere that says that clergy sell faith while politicians sell hope.

Most mainstream religion are quite misogynous and to tell oppressed women that we live in a virtual joke is not likely what they would accept.

P.S.

I wrote the above before reading your other post but will leave this.

And A & E did the right thing in shedding their ignorant bliss yet religions curse man for shedding the root of all evil.

What we do is natural but we have forgotten why we do it.

I think these explain that well.
