Another error strewn performance by the Wallabies. An appalling mistake by the touchline ref early in the 2nd half turned the game on its head but this didnt hide the fact that it was more of the same rubbish being dished up by what (on paper at least) is a fairly talented group of individuals.

Really feel that the ARU really made a significant mistake in not appointing Jake White as the new coach. He took a divided bok team and within a few years had won the world cup with them. His performance at the brumbies has been very impressive.

The ultimate aim is to winthe world cup and we had a coach who had wonthe world cup wanting to coach our side...and we ignore him. Why?

He is a two time winner of the IRB International Coach of the Year and was performance wise the stand out coach in Australia but he is ignored...unreal

Sometimes dont know what goes through players heads. 4 mins to go. We are down a man and lead Cymru by just 4 pts. We have possession..so what does Genia do? Kick the ball away and gift possession to the Welsh. He then does the same thing a minute or so later after we had worked hard to get possession back.

All the boys had to do was keep punching up around the ruck and make sure the support was there. Work through 15-20 phases or so and that would just about have done it. In the end we were a wee bit luck.

Hard luck to Cymru who played a very open, attacking game (as did we). At times it seemed more like 7's rugby instead of a test match.

Hate to say it but credit to the AB's for going through the entire year undefeated. Probably their biggest scare came in their last match!

The IRB really need to do something about their three-year residency qualification period that allows stars to relocate across the globe and then launch international careers. At the moment the pacific nations are being gutted as more and more of their top players head to europe with the intention of representing one of the 6 nations teams.

At the absolute very least a player should have to be living full time in a country that is not of his birth (or that he has not played junior rugby for) for a period of not less than 5 yrs.

Otherwise the pacific islands will continue to be stripped of their best players

Cracking first half by the wallabies against the French. Probably the best 40 mins i have seen them play for some time. The second half was patchy and the last 10 mins pretty disappointing but credit to the French who never stopped trying to play attacking, running rugby.

Understandably the French were a wee bit rusty. Expect them to be better this weekend.

Pretty ordinary first half by the wallabies against the AB's. Second half was better and in the end we were unlucky not to win. Bugger

so Ewen McKenzie has gone. Another win for another group of over paid, ego driven players. Another case of the tail wagging the dog. No doubt the same players who publically undermined Ewen will now be saying they are sad to see him go.

I really hope the ARU approach Jake White, and i hope he accepts...though you could understand if perhaps he had reservations.

Good win for Warriors against Bath yesterday. After two lacklustre Pro-12 performances I was fearing the worst, but we looked absolutely fantastic yesterday. I think this could be a great season for Glasgow, after coming so close last year.

It's good to have something finally to smile about in Scottish rugby.

Olympics 2016, Inaugural Rugby 7's tournament.

The IOC have announced that Great Britain will be represented at Rio 2016 by the home country that finishes highest in the HSBC Sevens World Series for 2014 / 15.

England have been the highest placed home country in this tournament for at least the last five seasons, and probably most seasons before that so it is probable that Team GB will be represented by England in Rio.

Is that really fair, though..?

I can see where the IOC are coming from. Organising it like this ensures that one national union only will be involved, rather than trying to get the SRU, WRU and the RFU to work together in harmony for the Olympics..... something that proved impossible with the Great Britain football team at London 2012.

But it will exclude Scots and Welshmen the opportunity to take part in the Olympic Games, which, according to the Olympic creed is what the Games are supposed to be all about (not the winning, but the taking part).

I should imagine that as Ireland compete in rugby as a united country, players from Northern Ireland will be able play under the flag of the Irish Republic. That may grate in some quarters but they won't mind that.

It is only the Welsh and Scots who are likely to miss out and that's a shame. Some will undoubtedly call it an English conspiracy (no surprise there) and some may say rugby players are being penalised by the IOC holding a grudge over the discord at London 2012 amongst the SFA, FA of Northern Ireland and FA of Wales refusing to co-operate with the FA.

Thoughts, anybody..?

Sounds like a English conspiracy to me.

can't understand the ARU...they seem to have a problem with Jake White. Extraordinary that he wasn't even considered. He expressed a desire to coach the wallabies. He had a great record with the ACT and he knows what it takes to win a world cup and to deal with a national team that has many factions.

Cheika might prove to be a decent choice. Obviously i hope this is the case but every one knows that Australian rugby is contantly at war with itself because of the never ending conflict btw Queensland and NSW...so appointing the tah's coach to head the Australian team whilst at the same time still leading NSW just doesnt seem like a good idea.
