Thanks for the answer.
If we avoid using certain key words (as I do these days) but still use innuendo in posts etc., does that mean that the mods delete points from us, make the post unloved or punch us? Sorry for being a pain and asking, but I have never noticed any of my posts being effected, although I have to admit I have had a serious potty mouth on TFS...
unloved is automatic, so is the negative points.
Mostly we usually go in with a warning, like hey guys, this is getting out of hand. Or just quarantine the whole thread. If it gets to be a continual problem we let the person obviously know- usually with a punch/warning. All these automatic things and quarantining end up removed from view of guests. (googlebots). Sometimes we just get a little overboard on the raunchy. I've been guilty of it too. Also google has the sensibility of a bunch of nuns, so stuff bothers them that I would say was ok, but it's not always just my call.
If google finds something we or the quarantine missed and sends Tino a complaint. He's going to swoop in, remove the problem and start throwing punches for every post he has to permanently delete. This doesn't happen very often.
Things more deliberate, like links to porn, hard or soft, nudity, graphic sex tips/talk, we usually take more seriously with a punch or ban. I see it as a little different, when a thread goes off topic and people make raunchy jokes or a relationship type question that starts to go too far than when they start a thread about their boner and how to make it happy.
That being said, the mod team is really good about talking these things out, and providing examples/documentation so we don't make these decisions lightly. Unless its a adult themed spammer...then its a race to drop the banhammer and get that stuff off the site.
