@Corey Said

You know, there are so many different ways that this could unfold. I know people who have a family, small children at home. and live on a lot less money than you are saying. I also know of families who made a small fortune of money every month, and ended up bankrupt and lost their homes. So it really depends on how you do it. Why don't you give it a try and see how you do. You will probably do better than you think, and learn a lot.

Corey.

I agree with you. I wanted to say about another. In my country If you have wages 1000 per month it's great. Later I will tell how I spend these great money

I would get your furniture and large electricals after you move, keep the money in the bank. The cost of moving them will be more. Also you can manage without some things for a while.

I went ahead and assumed you would be making 32,000 a year in the state of Minnesota and that your wife will be making 10,000 a year. After taking out taxes (federal and state), medicare, SS, filing status, and assuming no allowance, this is what I come up with for your net monthly combined income:

2,700

Now subtracting your budget, no savings you're left with:

642 dollars

I am sure you left out cell phones which would be an additional 120 dollars, car insurance for 2 cars at your age would be around 200 per month.

Taking those out would leave you with around 322 dollars, which isn't much padding - especially since your wife insists on taking care of your Mother in Law.

You can reduce unnecessary costs. For example, the cost of psychologist, not to use the second car, etc. In russia we all live without it.

I won't necessarily be seeing my psychologist every week, and we only have one car. We plan on living in close proximity to my wife's school and work so that she can take a bus. But this arrangement will probably only work while she's getting her generals completed.

You are strong person and you can do it. The main stay together. Together easier. Money is not important, happiness does not depend on the quanity of money. You can be happy without money.
It's difficult to give advice because I never lived in your country. If you believe in the fact that you can, you can do it.
Can I ask a question?
In Russia We are never visit psychologist. In Russia If you visit psychologist it means that you mentally ill - psycho.
About what you are talking with psychologist?
How does this help?

P.s. Sorry for my BAD English!!!

Regardless of what a lot of people will tell you, money is important. You cannot live as a happy couple without it, and statistically it's number one on the list of things that couples fight about.

I don't mean to dash the romantic sentiments and nice talk going on above, but I'm doing you more good by telling you the truth regardless of whether it makes me look materialistic or not than I would be by saying that you can just forget about money issues and it will all work itself out. Because it won't. You need to put in effort and plan your budget. You won't like how it feels when you have to dig through the couch to go buy milk and it's not happy.

I'm not saying you can't do it, I'm saying you can't just assume it's going to work and not pay attention to the fact that your costs seem to exceed your income.

I'm very sentimental myself, but I also think you ought to be realistic about your situation.

You can check my thread in relationships. Please do not post in it. I have a thing about the number 18 being lucky, and besides that, it's a dead thread and should not be bumped. If you do want to give me advice on the matter, pm me. I'm pretty bad mentally. I can push it aside and function, but I don't want to exist and I don't off myself only because people would miss me and care.

it's for the quality of life that I want to move. I know me and my wife can succeed, we just canted to make sure it was worth it right now.

Oh, I know exactly what you're talking about (from the experiences of others', not mine obviously). People seem to think that money is about owning nice cars and fancy things, when in reality, it's about security and the lack of stress (up to a certain point). Everyone I know my age living on their own who are in a couple have arguments about finances constantly.
