Family members who look alike

Genetics is a strange thing...

Some kids look just like one of their parents while others (like myself) look nothing like any relatives. I find that very interesting.

There's one family in particular that I know where the son took after pretty much everything from his father - facial structure, height, build, temperament, etc. The same goes for the mother and daughter! When they stand next to each other, it's almost like you're looking at a before/after comparison o_o

Then there's this other family where the son does not look anything like either of his parents. He is about 5'9 (I think) and both of his parents are about 5'2. Except maybe his eyes, his face doesn't resemble either of them as well.

Nature is strange.

I look like my mother, but I also look like my paternal grandmother when she was my age.

My older sister and I look the most alike. But you can easily tell my younger sister and I are sisters since we also look very similar.

Our 2nd daughter is almost identical to me. My childhood photos and her current photos could almost be the same person.

Now here's a REALLY freaky thing: My baby photo, that of my father-in-law, hubby, our 2nd daughter and son, all 5 of them together, we could be quintuples.

My oldest son and I are like this.

One time my mother-in-law (X) was looking at one of my photo albums. She saw a picture of me and my siblings. Pointing at my siblings she aced, "Who are those children?"

I said, "My brother and 2 sisters."

She said, "How did you get my grandson in a picture with your brother and sisters?"

I said, "Photo shop."

She didn't get the joke.
