What kind of goodies do you think you and every other parasitic government employee (can't call yall workers) will get? Last time you got a trillion dollar thank you. Maybe you'll get the same this time.

My polling place was literally empty. In and out in maybe 3 minutes.

I took the last available seat at my polling place, but I didn't have to wait for it. There were a few people waiting after me though.

They showed some of the queues on the TV here, looked absolutely massive some of them.

Was turn out that high or did it just come down to people queuing up before polling stations opened?

Long ballots, some places ran out and had to send out to have more delivered, malfunctioning scanning machines, and general disorder and chaos.

We had massive turnout here. In my city it's estimated that nearly 90% of eligible voters showed up.. Which is pretty awesome, or at least I think it's awesome.

We got there early, and waited about 2 hours. My neighbors from across the street showed up about 45 minutes after us, and ended up waiting a little more than three hours.

90%? That is absolutely amazing for a Western country. Your city should be very proud.

Something I've always wondered, do swing states/places where the votes are likely to be closer averagely have higher turnout, or does this not make any difference to turnout?

I'm most certainly not in a swing state.. We've voted Democrat in every election since prohibition.. so that's not it. Our turnout was so high because we had some serious local issues on the ballot, and everyone knew that if they didn't vote, it wouldn't happen.

As of last night, my partner and I can legally marry, and receive all the rights and benefits of marriage from our state. We're the first state in the country to win that right by popular vote, and Maine, Minnesota and Washington state, followed along with us.
