This explains why that bible makes no sense , has so many contradictions and sounds like a bunch of fairy tales .
The Bible was written over a period of 1400 to 1800 years by more than 40 different authors.
The Bible is a compilation of 66 separate books, divided into two primary divisions: the Old Testament (containing 39 books) and the New Testament (containing 27 books).
In act, as I have shown on here there are no contradictions in the bible. Only misunderstood scriptures, and a few reporting errors which are not all that significant, like for instance the number of stables in Solomon's palace.
It is easy to point out why the misunderstandings make some scriptures appear to be contradictions, but also why they aren't
In fact one way to know whether you are understanding the bible correctly is whether or not you find what appear to be contradictions.
Also there is not one "fairy tale" in scripture, all are eye witness accounts inspired (authored) by God and written down by humans acting as secretaries.
I have to admit that I can understand why some may sound like fairy stories, but knowing God as I do, and knowing even a small part of His power, I know they are not. I do however know how misunderstanding arise.
For instance, we all get the "Cecil B DeMill picture of walls of water a few meters apart letting the Israelites across.
However once you realise how many there were, approximately 6 million, plus wagons and livestock, it soon becomes clear that the "walls of water" had to be approximately 2 miles apart for them ll to get across in the time available to them. Much different to the image we are given as children.
Take the Ark. We are always given the picture of this little boat, but read the description of it.s design and you get a massive rectangular chest with three floors inside. Also Noah is only told to take animals "according to their kinds", which makes it very unlikely that every single species was taken, since thy had all been given the ability to adapt. That could dramatically reduce the numbers of animals, and if a young child I once met is right, which is actually logical, they only took young animals on board.
Makes a lot of difference to the story. I could go into even more detail like showing where the water came from , and the fact that there was only one continent at the time, as science confirms was the original state of the earth.
It truly is, as Jesus declared, the "word of God".
