They sure are!
I'm a Christian; If they don't understand the word of God themselves, they certainly have no right teaching me.
It's the reason I don't go to church anymore; too many self serving hypocrites.
It all starts with you and me,..'collectively'; if we speak our minds and hearts, and do it consistenly, justice will be served eventually. I believe this with all my heart. The wheels of justice turn slowly however, unfortunately...
We have come a long way in our attitudes though; so don't let the hypocrites discourange you.
Further, if you, and everyone got up and walked out, and stated first 'why'; that you are not there to help or to hear the spreading of hate in God's loving house...changes would be made...If people would just demand that the preachers practice what they preach! - Or have no one to preach TO!
It just confuses me. It just seems like nobody cares at times. I would have lost it if my friend did commit suicide because he was so scared to tell his family. (Incredibly religious family.) I agree with what you are saying and the wheels of justice are turning like a snail. I'm just proud of Obama for coming out and saying that all people deserve the same rights when it comes to love. That's a shred of hope I hold on to. (: |
