Court records say George Zimmerman had multiple injuries after Trayvon Martin's fatal shooting

MIAMI – Court records show George Zimmerman had a pair of black eyes, a nose fracture and two cuts to the back of his head after the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
The medical records were part of evidence released Tuesday that prosecutors have in the second-degree murder case against Zimmerman. He has entered a plea of not guilty and claims self-defense in the Feb. 26 shooting. A message left Tuesday evening with Zimmerman's attorney was not immediately returned.

This zimmerman guy, had I think, several documented incidents of displaying some type of anger that resulted in state required 'anger management' classes. But i'm willing to at least in this case, go against my gut feelings and give him a slight benefit of the doubt.....we don't know for sure if the injuries weren't self inflicted. Also, let's keep in mind, that no matter which way this case pans out, guilty or not, because of his deadly actions.....zimmerman's life is forever changed! And if he's innocent, i'm truly sorry for him.

Now just how strange is this?
Anyone remember all the hoopla about this case when those two preachers were leading all those people in screaming out demands for Zimmerman's arrest ?Hell a person couldn't wade though the Zimmerman / Martin headlines to find any other news
Now that there is actual real and legal evidence that shows Zimmerman has a side and it just may not be at all about hate crime or race. Barely a a whisper is to be heard . where is all those thousands of preacher lead screamers? And the media , where is all the breaking news articles ? Anyone have any ideas ?

i said he didn't get his a** kicked, and maybe he did.
he still disobeyed police.
if not for george's actions.

not since he got arrested have they been needed.

Okay so I can understand why the preachers and the screamers are keeping quite.
but what about the media ?

the media is keeping george safe i hope.

I recall hearing yesterday that the FBI had announced that it may be charging Zimmerman with a hate crime.

What purpose could there be in making such an announcement? Are they waiting to hear what the polls might reveal about the acceptability of making such charges before they decide whether they do charge him, or not?

It does seem a bit like the law enforcement agencies involved with this case are putting more attention on what the crowds are telling them they want and less attention on how the laws are suppose to work.
They might want to wait and see what happens next, after the medical records show that Zimmerman did have medical attention for injuries after that night that him and Martin met up.

This does suggest there was more of a fight than many of us initially believed, but it doesn't change the underlying facts. Zimmerman, armed with a gun, saw an innocent man he thought was a criminal. He then followed that man and approached him aggressively. He ended up shooting the man.

All these facts establish is that Martin, at some point, tried to defend himself from Zimmerman. Zimmerman still started the whole thing. You can't approach people on the street, accuse them of being criminals, start a fight, then claim self defense if you shoot them.

It works in the old western movies.

The one thing this case has no need of is any 'entertainment value.'

The media are the worst.

They put out anything they want under the guise of "freedom of speech" and "freedom of the press".

I am good with these freedoms... but with them should come some responsible reporting. Not censorship. But responsibility.

(I don't remember Morley Safer, Walter Cronkite, Peter Jennings, Tom Brokaw (etc) reporting all the crap that our media puts out today... liberal and conservative media alike...)

The defense has evidence that Zimmerman had injuries and received treatment for them the next day. According to the reports I saw, the evidence of his injuries was from a medical report and that medical report was dated the day AFTER the attack.

First of all, it was a good day for the defense, I will concede that. However, an injury does not mean you are innocent of shooting an unarmed teen dead using the defense of self defense.

You cannot be the aggressor, get the worst of the fight and shoot someone, stab someone or kill someone and claim self defense.

Let's look at it this way. I am walking down the street minding my own business and a man attacks me and tries to sexually assault me. I just happen to have a black belt in karate and I start kicking his ass. I give him a black eye, I break his nose. He can't then shoot me dead and when arrested say it was self defense. Well, he can but legally if it can be proven he attacked me first, that is not a valid case of self defense if he is the one who attacked first, if he was the aggressor.

Second, while its interesting that Zimmerman's defense has evidence of his injuries, this was for treatment the next day. How do we know he did not go home and do that to himself or got into another fight. I would like to see photographs, evidence from the responding officers or paramedics of that they saw on him a few moments after he killed Martin.

The prosecution can raise reasonable doubt if those injuries were only treated for and documented the next day.

Also, unless I missed it, I did not see any evidence comparing any injuries on Martin to that of Zimmerman.

So at this point the fact he had injuries, its relevant yes but does not prove he is innocent and killed someone in self defense.
