So I like this "Posts from: 90 days/30 days/1 year/Always" feature that is in forums, but is there anyway to make it so that when you click on a forum it defaults to "Always" ? I think right now it's default to 90. Is there a particular reason for the 90 days that makes it better than the others?

The 90 days version is the default, because most of us have the attention span of a mayfly, and this way we get 30 generations worth of information when we look..

Think of it as saving the history of the mayfly.

I believe the 90 days was done to speed up the site. TFS doesn't have to pull all the posts from always every time someone does a search. This way, it just pulls the last 90 and if you need more you can ask it to search "always."

If it's done to speed up the site then I can deal. THanks.

Yes, Tino did it to speed things up, and of course if it were default at "Always", it really wouldn't help in that regard since most people wouldn't switch it.

It's a minor pain, but it appears to be helping, at least from what I've seen.
