Well, then you pick yourself up and move on. Move to another state, get a job, rebuild, start over. Nobody said it was going to be easy. This reliance on the government for every bump in the road is ridiculous.

may you reap what you sow.

why, you need a new job anyway?

if your town blows away, what are the chances of finding a job in the next town tomorrow?

@Cinnamon Said

What are you doing personally, out of your money, to help them?

Well nothing today, but I wrote a check yesterday and mailed it today.

ron paul would just buy a new house, no problems.
then in a few months, after the insurance pays his claim,he is still not even, but still rich.
money makes life easier.

I would have to disagree,..when the government steps in to "help" they make it worse. There are plenty of examples in history where the government did not assist natural disaster victims and it actually turned out better that they hadn't

And plenty where they have.

agreed, it does all help.
but charities alone can't do it all.
tornado insurance don't help when the place you worked at got blown away.

Thats why we have unemployment... Another lifeline that is abused by many, but still necessary to help those that really need/deserve it.

everything is abused, even capitalist insurance companies get ripped off.
if everyone cared about each other equally, libertarians would get my vote.

My insurance doesn't cover floods or earthquakes. I found out about the earthquakes part last year..

I can believe that. Who in the DC area ever really thought about earthquakes? Well, besides the Congressmen from California of course.

Are you covered for tornado damage if there was also a cow next door with 3 legs? There's probably an exception in your policy somewhere for that occurence.

I would probably not be covered in that case, as I live in a city, and our city code prohibits all farm animals regardless of number of legs.

I don't know much about Mr. Paul, but I'd bet he's a "giver." He seems like one. In my experience, most people who can give, like to give. It's a joy.

He strikes me more as a taker.

By the way, if you live in tornado alley you should have to pay more for insurance than people who don't live in tornado alley.
