The photo can be taken at any time?

@ThePainefulTruth Said

What about scans of pre-digital prints (as long as you have the rights)?

Yep. The photo can be as old as you like as long as it is YOUR photo and YOU took it. If you post it within the month of the comp I'll give you kudos

Just follow your own rules.... Post by the 9th, to be voted on, on the 10th and 11th....

Did you forget, already?

Yeah, but how will that make you win? I will post a link to all the entries, or we will keep it all on the same thread, I haven't figured it out yet but no one will be able to vote until all the entries are closed at 9pm on the closing date, therefore it should be as fair as possible to everyone

Yeah, but how will that make you win?

Are you saying that the most impressive pic will not win?

What kind of voting would that be?

It's not just about being technically impressive/standards It's about being interesting, fun, original, sticking to the topic, inventive and so on. Everyone is on different levels of photography knowledge, skill and experience therefore it is not fair to judge the competition on technical merits alone. This is for EVERYONE

??? Isn't being interesting, fun, original, sticking to the topic, inventive, and so on, being impressive?

Who said that being impressive was to possess "technical merits"???

I was very much in favor of your idea, but now I can't be so sure...

I'll only join in if Clickboom is barred from entering, that bugger is too bloody good.

I'm just bloody lucky that's all so you have nothing to fear. Trust me when I tell you I've lost more than my fair share of competitions. Matter of fact I lost one to a gal that drew smiley faces with PhotoShop on a real nice set of grapes. As far as I was concerned she slaughtered what I thought was a nice shot but everyone else thought it was fantastic.

So I'm like just enter and have some fun ok.

Maybe I'm daft or something but I gotta axe...

1) Are you going to start a new thread each month and call it ... um... like whatever month it happens to be? ie: March Photo Challenge.... providing it's actually March. If it's like April or something then call it that.

2) When will it start and is this the thread we post Feb in. Like I have a photo that fits " Abandon " whatever the hell that is unless a copy of my divorce decree works. That's Abandon right?

By the way, I think "no post production" is silly and impossible. A simple point and shoot camera does a whole host of post-processing work every time you depress the shutter, boosting the contrast, brightness, saturation, sharpness, noise reduction etc. A .raw shot from a DSLR will generally have little to none of that and things like color and sharpness really need to be fixed in PP. A RAW literally image can't even be posted or viewed until interpreted by a post-processing suite.

"No post production" would even completely preclude something like cropping, red eye reduction, noise removal, etc.

So "no post production" should be changed to something like "minimal post production only"

I'm sorry I think I got crossed wires, I thought you were taking about technical skill. My apologies.

I did consider minimal but how I can track that? I want to make this for everybody not just the people who are into photography. Some people may not know even minimal post production so it's not fair to have an unfair advantage. If it becomes a problem then rules can always be changed later on. I am just trying to do something fyn for EVERYONE.
