This has always confused me.

What do you call someone from the UK? A UKer?!

I know Stew and Glittersniffer are from Scotland, which is a part of the UK, so I feel perfectly okay calling two of my good buddies crazy Scots!

But I just called Treebee a Brit. What if she's not British?! She hasn't specified what part of the UK she resides in, so how do I know what to call her?

Someone clear this up for an ignorant American!

Personally, I prefer English. But I'd accept British!

OK.
Great Britain = England, Scotland, Wales
United Kingdom = England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

Never EVER refer to someone from Southern Ireland as British.

Someone from Great Britain is a Briton, or is british. Though generally only the English wouldn't mind being refered to as British, and even then some people don't like it. Best to refer to people as English, Scottish, Welsh or Irish. There is no such thing as a UKer or UKish, the words just don't exist.

To confuse matters further, we are all European also.

But we don't ACT European. We mostly dislike mainland Europe and they dislike us.

Ok Ok I can do this too!

Wales = dark haired, strange language, good singers, rumoured to have sex with sheep, good at rugby. Drink beer!

England = good footballers, short tempered, bad teeth, excellent debaters, Drink anything!

Scotland = red haired, funny as hell, tough as old boots, stubborn and drink whisky.

Ireland = funny, religious, charming, happy, welcoming and drink guinness.

These are sterotypical Brits
