For the National Organization for Women, Planned Parenthood, and maybe the Girl Scouts, capital punishment is okay at zero as long as the baby is a fetus ex utero.

I think killing any living thing that God created is bad.
Hence of the reason shall not kill in the ten commandments.

I read that commandment as 'thou shalt not murder'.

You're both wrong, the ten commandments didn't originally say "murder" or "kill," it was in fact written in ancient Hebrew and unless one of us has a firm grasp of ancient Hebrew we have no real way of knowing its true implications.

With regards to this subject. I think the age in which a convicted killer ought to be elgible for capital punishment ought to be decided by a jury or by the state, not by politicians and not the federal government. The Constitution makes no capital punishment; therefore, this is an issue for the individual states and people to decide (9th amendment). In my home state of Texas I have little problems with putting a 16 year old to death depending on the severity and cruelty of the crime. If a 16 year old kid (yes he is a kid) beats, tortures, and sexually abuses a much younger child (possibly an infant), he ought to be taken out of the city gates and a bullet put through his head.

I explained somewhere in a different thread that there were seven words in Hebrew that said "kill." The one used in the 10 commandments meant "murder of a human."

My point was that the ten commandments were originally written in ancient Hebrew, and it is important to get at the heart of the actual meaning.

Glad we seemed to have settled this controversy.
