IM seriously getting so bored with religions b****ing about this and that... there comes a time where even tradition has to go.. and i feel that religion needs to be the next to go.. if peace is what the UN strives for, then i feel the solution is abolish religion.. which to be honest would be impossible! but not improbable..

I think some religions are doing a good enough job at destroying themselves which in my opinion is unfortuneate.

I'm a Roman Catholic who trys to practice my faith but the actions of some, maybe too many, in authority within the church are driving away young people in their millions.

I have a Bishop in charge of the church were I live that i have NO respect in at all. He has shown himself to be everything I disagree with.

However

I think in the troubles that CLAIM to be based on religious ideals the truth is they are not. The true teachings of many faiths are totally against violence yet it is the abuse of the teachings by certain individuals who have warped minds that brings THEIR religious beliefs as opposed to their churches beliefs to the fore.

The media simplify any situation to make a story line sexy and wham. Religions are at war. Bollox.

Look at Ireland. From an outsiders perception the "troubles" here are based on two religions waring?

VERY VERY WRONG. The w**kers who have brought misery to the people in this country do not do so because of or with the backing of any religion.

Maybe a look deeper into many of the other conflicts in the worlds may show that to be the case there also.

To abolish a belief in anything would cause a huge uproar. If the UN were to issue a proclaimation that abolished all relidgious faith, first no one would pay attention, and if they tried to enforce this proclaimation, many people would die.

We do not need to abolish religion, but we need to learn to live with others of differing religions. It's not abolition, but toloerence that needs to be practiced.
