Can you name an example of a non-smoker who supports legalizing weed?

I totally disagree with the statement refering to weed not being man made, as unless you are smoking home grown stuff I can nine times out of ten guarantee that anything from a drug dealer would have been mixed with some form of chemical to give it a bit more of a kick.

You are wrong. It may be genetically engineered to increase it's potency, but no dealer in his right mind is going to lace it with something more expensive to sell for profit.

If that has ever happened it is just one person that wanted to screw with another person for their own reasons.

Oh I was not refering to lacing it with other drugs when I said chemicals...I pretty much ment what you said but without all the fancy words.

Actually, the marijuana business is a fine example of something called artificial selection. Growers can select plants either for their color or thc content OR both, and breed those plants, then repeat the process. Eventually they come out with the purple, orange, white, etc. colors that all have high thc content, which is why they say the marijuana around today is much stronger than the marijuana that was around in the 60's. It's possible they use chemical pesticides and what-not, but i don't see them using it to "enhance" the drug.

Hopefully this can bring some conservatives onto the legalization bandwagon, which will definitely help the process!

we definitely need to get organized crime out of the business of growing and distributing it. What better way than to legalize and tax it?

The joke here is that legalizing it and taxing it gets organized crime out of the business, and allows other organized crime to take over

But it is true. Legalizing and regulating it will significantly cut down on crime.

I guess it is how you look at it, whether you think it is man-made or not. What I'm trying to say is that weed grows on it's own, it can be found in the wild. Alcohol, on the other hand, cannot be created unless certain ingredients are added and it is monitored.

I'm talking about the alcohol the beer manufactures make and sell, considering natural alcohol can be made in nature, but no one is going to sell a bunch of rotten apples that have fermented and became a nasty sort of cider. Not my knowledge, at least.

Please keep the whole legalization debate to one thread. They are now all merged together, in case that confused anyone.

Thanks.

Alcohol occurs freely in nature. No, Jack Daniels doesn't, but the actual alcohol molecule in vodka is the same alcohol that occurs naturally.

Alcohol is a natural product. It's not synthetic. There are differences to be drawn between cannabis and alcohol, but "alcohol is not natural" is not one of them.

Now that you said it like that, it does occur naturally. I was thinking on a totally different train of thought

My thread was aimed more for discussion about Pat Robertson and the conversion of conservatives...

Would it be dumb to say that if we legalize weed we can possibly raise our economy by a small percentage? Even though it won't help our economy a lot.
