I haven't updated my iPhone, iPad and iPod touch yet but plan to later on in the day.

Have any of you Apple users downloaded the new iOS yet? If so, what are your thoughts/comments on it?

I tried to, but was unable to. Research online indicates half are having similar problems due to Apple servers being overloaded. So I guess I will have to wait.

Let me know when you are able to, and I'll try it again then.

Good luck. I can only imagine it will get worse once everybody gets home from work and starts trying it.

Okay, I managed to get it updated, albeit a few hairy moments when it failed a few times and my phone was bricked in between, fearing I would have to make a trip to the Apple store just to get my phone working again. Nonetheless, all looks good now. It sets you up with iCloud right away, which is nice, as I was looking forward to that more than anything. Notification Center looks interesting too.

How far have you gotten in the process. Did it download, then time out?

Still playing around with Notification Center, as there are a lot of settings, as to how it will show up on your screen to what you can include in the alerts. Pretty cool I guess. I'll be playing around with iCloud soon, though, as that involves a lot, from setting up a new me.com email account to syncing all your docs and musics online. I also like how app data will finally be saved across multiple devices.

I used a WiFi connection, but when I was trouble shooting my issues, I read a suggestion to use an ethernet connection directly to your modem. I was about to do that before I finally completed the process successfully.

One thing I did do was to disable my firewall, per another suggestion.

The download portion took 30 minutes. Luckily once it did, I didn't have to redownload on later tries.
