Because not only are they smoking marijuana, but they are supporting the downfall of American society. That should be grounds for treason.

Name one non-stoner who would agree with legalization.

Then, what's your problem with it being illegal?

It's an unnecessary, pointless restriction on personal liberty. Alcohol and tobacco are not illegal and are arguably more harmful than weed.

People should be free to do what they want when they're by themselves not bothering anybody. There's no reason for it to be illegal.

Why are you so against it? What have your experiences with marijuana honestly been?

I'm actually interested in having a serious dialog with you on this topic.

If you are interested in the same, let me know. It's obvious you are not ready to approach this with a clear head at the moment.

Me! I see potential tax revenue, and a decrease in time/money spent trying to outlaw something that is very difficult to control.

I also think throwing people in prison for *thinking* weed should be legal is a gargantuan waste of tax dollars, and perhaps one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard. Get some perspective dude.

Yeah, that's the other thing. Significant decrease in crime rates, a safer product for the millions of stoners across the country, and lots and lots of tax revenue in addition to the freeing up of a lot of money tied up in "enforcement."

Think of the billions we'd save just by not sending pot smokers to prison.

Trust me. They're better off in prison and not in society bothering people who don't smoke.
