I was mildly excited to hear Cartoon Network was re-making Looney Tunes. On one hand, modern takes of Looney Tunes have worked (for me at least). I enjoyed the movie "Looney Tunes: Back in Action". I was a little harsher than the original, but it still held that charm of the characters. On the other hand, Cartoon Network has become a channel were idiotic cartoons roam. When the material they produce is idiotic and charmless, that's bound to rub off on a remake they produce. I finally have been able to view numerous episodes of the remake of Looney Tunes. Daffy is a completely lazy a-hole. And not in the charming way he was before. Bugs Bunny is annoying (I never thought I'd say that). They made Porky Pig skinnier (Really? Really? He's called
Porky Pig for a reason). As for the other characters, I can't say much. They hardly show them. Or at least in the numerous episodes I've seen. Cartoon Network took the charm out of Looney Tunes and it makes me sad. This generation may not know how truly funny the originals were. Hopefully, someone is there to make sure they see the classic cartoons.
Opinion?
yeah I totally agree. I don't like this as much as the original. I totally HATE what they have done with Lola bunny. She wasn't stupid and never was. I don't like what they have done with yosimete Sam, Daffy, porky or LOLA. I have not seen Granny, tweety or silvester yet. So I have no idea about them. I hate how they are trying to remake all of our cartoons. Although yes, I have to agree with you the Looney Tunes: back in Action was pretty good and hilarious.
they have also started remaking others like Voltron and Thundercats. That just teed me off.
