mounted throughout cities everywhere and they'll be running twenty-four / seven.

I was lying in bed this morning and preacher was on TV.

He was rambling on about the evils of young parenthood and although sharing common sense values I couldn't help but relate him to the opening of Half-Life 2 where the protagonist is trying to sneak his way through this city that has been overtaken and under alien control and conditioning.

I know what the preacher was saying but it came off to me like this:

God wants young ladies to be more responsible for themselves as he does not like having to pay higher taxes to support the good number of fatherless children that young minority girls produce each year.

As well, God wishes for any relationship to be filed, documented and tied in with the government so the that relationship is easier to locate and intervene if it does not prove to be tax-payer practical.

Discuss.

Actually, I'm wondering if this should be in politics because I think it's going to go over the religious people's heads.

I don't see how it could happen. Everywhere in the western world religion seems to be losing its grasp.

Possibly but to me it's starting look more like 'the will of God' is actually 'the will of conservative politicians' and that's a bit frightening.

Oh it absolutely is. Don't you know that God talks to them?
But really. Religious leaders are losing influence in the western world. Especially here in NZ. There isn't really a true conservative party and there is most defintely not one that is particularly religious.

I should also note, for kiwis whom have never left NZ, that NZ is a copy-pasted America.

We have the exact same kind of religious programming and some of that stuff you guys get IS from America.

Over here in the UK we have a very secular society, I can't really see it happening. There is the "God" Channel, somewhere around 150-160 on the Virgin XL Package, but most pay the extra £5 to have it removed... Instead of televangelists we Brits go straight to the point, having the whine of Middle England each day in the Daily Mail - this cuts out the middle-man, so to speak, and we get straight down to the evils of a tax system that has the upright subsidising those who tend to bend more in the breeze. (I believe its next major crusade is to be "More Votes For the Decent Folk" )

Anyway, this is all just an excuse to reel off another poem by Blake, which seems relevant....

I went to the Garden of Love,
And saw what I never had seen:
A Chapel was built in the midst,
Where I used to play on the green.

And the gates of this Chapel were shut,
And "Thou shalt not" writ over the door;
So I turn'd to the Garden of Love,
That so many sweet flowers bore,

And I saw it was filled with graves,
And tomb-stones where flowers should be:
And Priests in black gowns, were walking their rounds,
And binding with briars, my joys & desires.

Churches in my town are closing their doors due to lack of membership.
