Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney on Saturday derided President Barack Obama's health care law -- modeled in some ways after one the ex-governor signed in Massachusetts -- as a misguided and egregious effort to seize more power for Washington.

And appeal to the conservative base. This isn't the first time Romney has done something like this and it won't be the last.

It cracks me up..

Romney is basically saying "He's ruining the country with my healthcare plan!!" and then saying "I should be president instead"..

I guess that Romney really wants the credit for ruining the country with the plan that he created.... right?

if Romney is to have any sort of chance to run, he's going to have to hit hard, and denounce his own plan. Anything to appeal to the base, Huckabee has been out all weekend (week?) pushing his book, and taking digs at Romney all the time, both with "RomenyCare" and implying at polygamy is also the down fall of society, during his gay marriage and single motherhood rants, setting up the do we really want a morman as president argument.

I really really wish people would stick to the issues, but I doubt it would happen.

Yeh, Romney attacking out of wedlock pregnant Portman (who has all the money she needs to raise a kid on her own even though she is scheduled to get married)- yet Romney says nothing at all (including his interviews with) right-wing out of wedlock Bristol Palin.
What gives Romney?
Your integrity?

That was Huckabee, not Romney, that went off on Portman glamorizing single motherhood.

but otherwise yes, he has been speaking out a lot this weekend, he has new book to sell.

Uz right. And another lesson for me to stay with the politics and away from TV reporting and hollywood glam.

If that's true then that's quite low of Huckabee. Polygamy hasn't been supported by the Mormons for 100+ years now (they had to denounce it in order to give Utah statehood, but the fact remains they don't support it anymore). Does he really think attacking Mormons is a legitimate way to compete against Romney?
