I like walking; I like the steady rhythm it creates that enables me to forget my feet and concentrate on sights, sounds and thoughts; I like the feeling of physical independence; I like to get tired this way, rather than through the frustrations & irritations of daily life.

Anyone else walk a lot? I accept it is no longer necessary to walk everywhere, or indeed anywhere, but that does not mean it is impossible.

I prefer hiking to just walking down the road, but yeah. I love it.

I like walking, though I don't really get out all that much anymore. It's nice and relaxing, especially when you're listening to music at the same time.

Beatles and hiking through the woods.
It's perfect serenity.

I do tend to walk everywhere local - I only use my bike if I have a long distance to go.
I have to have music on though most of the time when I am walking, it just seems to chill me out a bit. I just wish there were more places in my area to walk, its all a bit built up here and seeing the same buildings over and over does get a bit depressing

I have a dog and I walk him at least 4 times a day (the minimum amount he requires). I have decided that if it's a mile or less I leave my ipod at home. I try to use that time to be technology free and be alone with my thoughts. It's quite nice. So usually I get about 40-60 minutes a day to just think.

If drunken distance walking was an olympic sport I'd take gold every time.

I don't mind it. I walk close to three miles a day. But I no longer love it like I use to, same with running.

Maybe cause I've done both too much...I no longer like it as a form of exercise. I prefer roller balding now.

I love walking too. I'm one of the few that don't complain when I have to walk a distance. Some people don't shut up until they get there.

I probably walk close to three or four miles a day. There are some days I've walked more like six or seven miles unintentionally.

I get kind of bored when I walk alone. There are moments where having music in can be really relaxing, but usually when I choose to go for a walk rather than when I *have* to walk somewhere. If I'm walking with someone it can be nice though
